If, like us, you're still mourning the marriage of Eddie Redmayne — the adorable Brit who stormed on the scene first with his performance in Les Miserables and most notably as Stephen Hawking in The Theory of Everything — you can now at least take solace in the fact that he's an amazing husband!
Last night at the British Academy of Film and Television Arts Awards, the Oscar nominee couldn't keep his hands off of his new wife, Hannah Bagshawe, and continued to show affection throughout his walk down the red carpet. "I love married life!" he said after he won the esteemed Best Actor award according to People. After seeing hoards of screaming fans yelling for Redmayne, he said his wife found the whole scenario "quite funny."
One thing he isn't joking about, though? How much his wife deserves a proper honeymoon. You may recall that during his acceptance speech at the Golden Globes, he noted that the and his wife had to cut their honeymoon short for him to attend the awards ceremony. "And Hannah, my wife of about a couple of weeks ago. We had to cut our honeymoon short to come to Los Angeles," he said in the speech. "The sunshine wasn't so great today, but I thank you and I thank the HFPA for giving me and us a night at the end of our honeymoon we will remember."
Well, that's all changing soon enough! Post BAFTA win, Redmayne also make sure to emphasize that he will be taking his honeymoon, more to please his patient wife than anything else. "I'm making this film, and then the plan is to go and sit on a beach somewhere with her [Hannah]," the U.K.'s Best Daily says the star said after his win. "She certainly deserves it. I'll get a few more freckles." How sweet!
