David Hasselhoff has moved on from saving lives in Baywatch to starting a new life with his longtime girlfriend, Hayley Roberts. He reportedly popped the question to his now-fiancé in a romantic, beachside setting in Malibu after about five years of dating the blonde bombshell.
While the duo certainly has a rather wide age gap, what with the Baywatch star being 63 and Roberts being a mere 36 years old, it just goes to show that age is only a number when it comes to true love.
"I had a saying, 'You don't get married because you want to live with someone, you get married because you can't live without them,'" Hasselhoff told Hello! (Also, awwww!). "I knew that I was really unhappy without her. I waited to propose because I thought I was too old for her."
But apparently the beach boy overcame his anxieties and got down on one knee anyways. He tweeted early Tuesday saying, "Thanks for all Congratulations to me & Haley...BEST WEEK EVER!"
At first, his now fianceé thought he was playing a prank on her when he took out the ring! "I thought he was just joking. He's asked me before, but it was never for real. I cried so hard that he didn't get around to actually asking, 'Will you marry me?' until about 10 minutes later," Roberts told the magazine.

This isn't the muscle-man's first go-round at marriage, either. Back in 1984 Hasselhoff married singer Catherine Hickland, and five years later the couple called it quits. Then, that same year in 1989, he tied the knot with Pamela Bach. After seven years together, they also decided to file for divorce. Hopefully this time around Hasselhoff will have better luck!
