Oh, how we looove a cap sleeve. For starters, their presence means the dress isn't strapless—always a plus. But really it's their demure, feminine quality that draws us to them. I've spotted them in several collections thus far. At Jenny Packham, the look was pure 1930s glamour, very Katharine Hepburn. Next, I spotted them at St. Pucchi (this editor is a longtime fan of this over-the-top label), topping a sheer lace corseted bodice. And Claire Pettibone's collection featured cap sleeves prominently (this detail, along with gorgeous floral embroidery, has become the designer's signature), most notably in Emma, a standout from the collection (all priced less than $3,000), featuring flowing blush silk and shades of pewter and dusty rose. —Amy Elliott
