Hey gossip girls, we've got some juicy news to start your Monday morning: Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds are expecting their first child! The actress-turned-lifestyle guru announced her pregnancy on her new website, Preserve.
In conjunction with the launch of Preserve's new "Family" section, the website posted a series of photos celebrating expectant mother's with a message about this new endeavor. "Preserve at its core is about family. Family is the single word our founder, Blake built this ohme on. We have something for men, for women, for the old, but we realized, we don't have anything for the new. With family on our mind, we looked to the origin of it all — to the women in our lives who are right there, at that special moment; at the creation of family," the website says.
At the very end, a photo of Lively cradling a growing baby bump (seen above) is finally shared. To make the announcement even more adorable, the family-oriented mom-to-be had her brother Eric snap the sweet shot.
It's no secret that Lively has wanted to start a family with her husband of two years — in fact, all of her most recent interviews left a literal trail of bread crumbs!
In October 2012, the The Town actress told Allure, "I've always wanted a big family. Oh, I'd love 30 [children] if I could." Just two months ago, she told Marie Claire that "if I could spit out a litter of kids, I would."
As for Reynolds, he shares his wife's enthusiasm for children. "We'd love to have a big family. We both come from big families — my parents did four, Blake's did five. A lot of people say it's crazy, but we'll only know when we're there, you know?" Reynolds told Details in August 2013.
Just last month, Lively's interview with Vogue hinted that this happy announcement was on the way. "He's going to be a great father and leader and patriarch — he's so meant to be all of those things," she says of Reynolds.
While there's no word on when the baby is due, there's no doubt that their son or daughter is going to have some very good genes.
