Some people propose over a swanky dinner and glasses of bubbly champagne. Others pop the question in a more adventurous setting, like riding with their love in a hot air balloon. But quite possibly one of the best proposals we've ever seen is this one, which involves a tiny baby goat and a really, really excited girlfriend.
This past February, Andrew Forbes gave his girlfriend, Allison Jones, the biggest surprise of her life. The pair was hiking the Appalachian Trail in North Carolina with a group of friends for a birthday camping trip when Forbes decided there was no better time than then to deploy his genius (and furry!) proposal plan.
"We love all things nature, animals, and frolicking with our friends, so this was the most perfect weekend for us," Jones told HowHeAsked.
Forbes needed to come up with some kind of lie in order to sneak off and prepare for his proposal without his girlfriend knowing, so he told everyone he was helping someone change a tire, according to The Huffington Post. But when he returned, he was carrying something a little more cute than a tire...it was a baby goat!
"As I got closer and saw Andrew's big, proud smile, I realized it was a baby goat!" she told HowHeAsked. "I was out of my mind excited. I remember I started freaking out and saying, 'Are you serious?! Is this real?'"
But a new furry friend was only part of her boyfriend's epic surprise. When he asked Jones to check out the goat's name in the YouTube video, she uncovered an engraving on the dog tag that read, "Will you marry me?" Forbes then quickly got down on one knee to seal the deal with a gorgeous diamond ring. Jones burst into tears and gave her now-fiancé a passionate kiss that we can guess only meant Yes!
The couple actually ended up naming their pet goat Max, after their proposal location site on Max Patch mountain. HuffPost states there isn't a wedding date set yet, but here's hoping little Max gets a major role in the wedding!
