With celebrity comes many privileges — including the opportunity to name your local zoo's newest penguin chick! That's the honor Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle, Washington, bestowed on Anna Faris and Chris Pratt, who passed the duty down to their 3-year-old son, Jack, according to People.
In a video shared by the zoo, the Pratt clan announced the penguin's new name by saying: "Hi, Woodland Park Zoo! We are so honored that we have been chosen to name your newest penguin addition, and so Jack has decided that we will name the baby penguin," Faris says, then turns to her son to take it home, yelling, "Eagle the Penguin!" You can see the cuteness for yourself here:
In response, the zoo wrote on Twitter, "Gotta say, you all nailed it. Eagle the penguin loves to soar through the water."
The couple also explained how their son arrived at the unusual but adorable name: "Chris and I grew up in Washington state and we love bald eagles," Faris says. "We thought that a penguin with aspiration to fly might be really fun. We cannot wait to meet you, Eagle!"
Though he keeps quiet in the video, Pratt, who most recently starred in Jurassic World, shared his excitement on his Facebook page, writing, "Anna and I grew up in the Pacific Northwest. I remember the awesome salmon and trout rivers, the bears, the elephants. Oh. I'm talking of course about the @woodlandparkzoo! If you haven't had a chance to check it out you really must. It's such a well run and gorgeous facility."
He continued, "Who'd have thought that 15 some years later we'd meet in Hollywood, fall in love, get married, have a baby and that baby boy would be given the opportunity to name a penguin chick at the zoo?! I mean, come on!"
