Beth and Aaron in Chevy Chase, MD
Fall blooms and treasured heirlooms make for a wonderland-themed affair
THE CELEBRATION
THEIR STORY
Beth and Aaron never dreamed a blind date would turn into lasting love. But that first date to a Washington Redskins football game sparked a serious romance. "It was instant chemistry," Beth says. Even Aaron, a big sports fan, doesn't remember who won. "I knew after just being with her for a couple of hours that she was someone I wanted to get to know a lot better," he says.
A year later, Aaron was ready to propose. He had hoped to pop the question in Great Falls Park, Virginia, but the night before his planned proposal, rain, ice and snow pounded the area. Worried about what to do, Aaron couldn't sleep. "Beth sensed that something was on my mind," he says. "We started talking and I decided to do it right then and there." At 4 a.m., he kneeled on their bedroom floor and proposed with a ring just like the one Beth had hoped for, but with a sentimental twist—the diamond had belonged to Aaron's grandmother. —Ellen Sturm Niz
