The fiery hues of the season transform a vineyard into one couple's ultimate fall fantasy

THEIR STORY
For Sasha Souza, California-based event designer and 2004 Modern Bride Trendsetter, planning her own nuptials to Scott Butler was a surreal experience. Laughing about wearing two hats (bride and planner) Sasha jokes, “Not many brides spend the three hours prior to their wedding stapling fabric to a table!” The couple exchanged vows on November 17, 2007, in an intimate outdoor ceremony at Hans Fahden Vineyards. They then joined their 60 guests at the cocktail hour on a terrace draped in cantaloupe and turquoise chiffon. For dinner, served in the wine cave, everyone feasted from stations of organic comfort food, including butternut squash soup and root vegetable pot pie, by Napa-based Caridwyn & Sons. To celebrate their mutual love of rock music, Sasha and Scott (who used to play bass in a heavy metal band) hired DJ Leibowitz, a “hard rock pianist,” and served a Charvel bass guitar–shaped groom’s cake.
