Meghann chose a lightweight striped silk taffeta gown by Watters Brides, and Will wore linen pants from J.Crew, a blazer from Brooks Brothers and a plaid tie from Nautica. Will’s aunt created all of the bouquets and boutonnieres for the wedding.

The bride’s updo, by stylist Christine O’Donnell, featured a silk dahlia. "I had it custom-made to be the same size as the dahlias in my bouquet," says Meghann. Her sapphire-and-diamond earrings, from Small Pleasures, were a wedding gift from Will.

Will is an avid surfer, so Meghann created a custom surfboard—complete with the wedding date—for him as a wedding gift. "I designed the top and bottom of the board, and his friend found a surf shop in Peru to make it for me," says Meghann.

The reception was held beneath a tent on the lawn provided by Undercover Tent Company. "We wanted it to feel very ‘laid-back chic,’ using natural elements instead of flowers, and letting lanterns and candles do the rest," says Meghann.

The wedding’s stationery (escort cards, invitations, menus and cupcake flags) was designed by Linh Trieu, the girlfriend of one of Will’s cousins. Shells from seashells.com were used as paperweights to keep the escort cards from blowing away.

The reception centerpieces—square glass vases filled with sand and seashells—were assembled by the couple’s families and the bridesmaids on the day before the wedding. The chocolate table runners and fuchsia napkins came from Special Event Linens.

In lieu of a wedding cake, the couple served cupcakes from a nearby bakery. "Since the wedding wasn’t too formal, we thought cupcakes seemed more personal and appropriate," says the bride.
