Alicia fell in love with the Jenny Lee dress (purchased at Mark Ingram Bridal Atelier in Manhattan) that she wore for her wedding ceremony. "It was really light, and that was key for an August wedding," she says about the gown, which has a sweetheart neckline, beaded bodice and silk gathered skirt. Good thinking—the temperature topped 100 degrees the day of the wedding!

The couple’s bridesmaids wore biscuit-colored chiffon Vera Wang dresses and carried bouquets featuring white and pink roses. The dresses are the same gowns Jessica Simpson’s maids wore in her wedding to Nick Lachey: Alicia had found a photo of the dress in a magazine and tracked it down for her attendants.

The couple married shortly before sunset in the impressive gardens of the Carltun in front of about 200 guests. The venue had put the couple in touch with the priest who officiated the ceremony.

A table with an oversize floral arrangement of hydrangea, roses and lilies as well as place cards featuring guests’ names written in calligraphy sat at the entrance of the Carltun.

The couple purchased two frames from Pottery Barn and filled them with childhood photos of themselves. They displayed them in the foyer of the Carltun so guests could view them when entering.

Sungjin chose a platinum band from Tiffany & Co. for his wedding ring, while Alicia opted for an eternity band in diamonds that the couple purchased in Manhattan’s Diamond District.

Alicia performed the Meditation from Thais by Jules Massenet at the end of the cocktail hour. "It’s a very short romantic piece and shows off the tone of the violin," she explains.

Just after Alicia’s violin solo, Sungjin performed Fantasie Impromptu by Frederic Chopin, a fast-paced piano piece, for his bride and their guests.

Alicia and Sungjin sought a traditional look for their reception and were pleased with the white linens and china that the Carltun provided. Each table was decorated with a glass vase filled with pink and cream roses, lilies and orchids as its centerpiece. Pink rose petals were sprinkled on the table.

As a nod to her Chinese roots, Alicia changed into a traditional Chinese wedding dress—known as an Qipao—for part of the reception. She had it specially made in Taiwan when she visited there the summer before her wedding. She also honored her husband’s Korean roots by wearing a green-and-red Korean gown (not pictured) that her in-laws had had made for the occasion.

The Carltun baked the couple’s four-tier wedding cake, and their florist decorated it with pink and cream roses and hydrangea. Two of the tiers featured chocolate with chocolate pudding, while the other two featured white cake with custard and mixed berry filling.

Alicia surprised Sungjin with a Mets-inspired groom’s cake, paying homage to his favorite baseball team. "I saw a photo of the cake in a magazine and asked the Carltun to replicate it," says Alicia. "They did a wonderful job!" The bride wore her second Jenny Lee gown for the cake cutting, a simple lace dress she also purchased at the Mark Ingram Bridal Atelier.
