Ten years after they married at the Empire State Building, Melanie and Joseph returned to renew their vows. The bride, in a strapless A-line gown with lace details, wore a vintage-inspired wavy do that was accented with a single stephanotis. Joseph sported a black two-button suit from MW Tux. The couple honored their union with a wine ceremony in which the bride and groom poured wine from their individual glasses into a center glass.
The wedding party entered the ceremony area through a bronze gate decorated with roses, tulips, sweet peas and jasmine in dark pinks, reds, purples and plums. Spheres of lush-colored florals lined the aisle, which featured a satin runner embellished with swirls of red and pink silk adhesive rose pedals. Red suede banquettes, leading up to the wedding canopy, provided seating for the guests.
Cristina and Jason could hardly keep from smiling as they kissed after the champagne toast following their ceremony. Cristina’s drop-waist gown from David’s Bridal featured ruffles along the skirt and train. Jason's satin edge lapel suit was from MW Tux.
A decadent red fainting couch and romantic mirror placed on a faux fireplace decorated the bridal boudoir. Antique frames with vintage Valentine’s Day cards sat atop red Plexiglas tables, and Oriental rugs added warmth to the room.
Whitney and Tim wouldn’t let anything stop their Valentine’s Day wedding. When England-based Tim found out he couldn’t get a visa in time to attend their big day in the Big Apple, Whitney contacted presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton, who came to their rescue and sped up the process, allowing the two to go through with their nuptials as planned. Whitney, in an elegant Pronovias gown from Kleinfeld, carried a classic bouquet of red roses. Tim wore a Joseph & Feiss suit with an ivory vest from MW Tux.
Tonya exemplified the glamorous bride in her bustled V-neck gown with lace-up back. Her loose curls and elegant gloves completed her look. Tosin’s pink tie and vest, from MW Tux, perfectly accented the ceremony decor.
Here, Joy Plaisted performed hymns on the harp that the couples’ requested for their walk down the aisle. Harpists Anna Reinersman and Marjorie Fitts also played throughout the day.
Kathleen and Dustin traveled all the way from Alabama to celebrate their wedding at the Empire State Building. Dustin had planned to propose at the New York landmark on Valentine’s Day last year, but a snowstorm upset his plans. This Valentine’s Day, Kathleen, in an ivory 2Be Bride gown, and Dustin, in a Calvin Klein peak lapel suit from MW Tux, finally tied the knot.
Sara’s satin A-line gown from David’s Bridal featured a red beaded hem and inset that celebrated the theme of the day. Along with a bouquet of red roses and matching shoes, her favorite accessory was her new husband, George, dressed in a suit from MW Tux with a red tie and vest.
Looking regal in his military uniform, JD escorted Kaymarie down the rose-petal-embellished aisle. After meeting in Germany, where both were stationed in the Air Force, the two decided to marry at the Empire State Building—solidifying their once-long-distance relationship. In a mermaid-style Demetrios gown accented with a chocolate-brown sash, Kaymarie carried a wintry bouquet of white roses, stephanotis and calla lilies with shimmering crystal accents.
Under the wedding canopy sat a small table draped in vibrant red fabric. A lush ring of roses, tulips, sweet peas and jasmine lined the table’s edge.
In a tea-length Galina gown from David’s Bridal, Katie married Lee, her boyfriend of four years who wore a classic suit from MW Tux along a cherry-colored vest. The high school English teacher met her future husband while working together at a golf course on Long Island, where they both reside. Lee proposed to Kathryn during a ride on a private plane over New York City. As the aircraft made its way over the Empire State Building, Lee popped the question.
Marlo wore an organza A-line gown from David’s Bridal with cap sleeves, side draping and beaded embroidery. During their ceremony, Marlo and Greg participated in a hand ceremony in which the bride and groom offered their hands to each other, signifying their lifelong commitment.
The chic yet masculine groom's lounge featured black and red accents, which included a plush leather ottoman, black club chairs and modern red details.
Dressed elegantly for a winter wedding, Jennifer wore a long-sleeve A-line Romona Keveza gown with a sheer overlay. Her casual wavy updo and simple makeup completed her look. Dan looked dapper in a notch lapel, two-button suit from MW Tux with a purple vest and tie.
In a tulle A-line gown with beaded lace appliqués and a draped pickup skirt by Monique Luo, Bing recited "The Key to Love" by an anonymous Chinese writer. Her groom, Matthew, in a Kenneth Cole three-button suit from MW Tux, looked on intently.
Jessica, in a white Alfred Angelo gown, and Nicholas, in a suit from MW Tux with a classic silver vest and tie, made it a point to coordinate their attire. The native New Yorkers had planned to visit the Empire State Building together on their first date, but a snowstorm thwarted their plans. The two did eventually make it to the top of the building, where Nicholas proposed. Here they make their way to the toasting area after their ceremony, where they were treated to champagne and macaroons.
Marlo and David celebrated their fifth anniversary a little early with their vow renewal at the Empire State Building. The expectant mother purchased a hot-pink knee-length gown from Motherhood Maternity and carried a bouquet of red and pink roses to celebrate the occasion, while David wore a black Jones New York suit with a silver vest from MW Tux. The couple, who renew their vows once a year, had planned to celebrate this year’s anniversary in August at Disney World but jumped at the chance to do it on Valentine’s Day, fearing an August renewal would be too close to Marlo’s due date.
The bride and groom celebrated with a champagne toast and macaroons from Payard following their ceremony. They also received a gift bag from Brides.com that included a his-and-hers beauty package from Clinique, a $100 gift card from Linens ‘n Things, a Mirassou wine opener, a Brides.com T-shirt, theater tickets to Young Frankenstein and a DVD of Affair to Remember.
