A couple's countryside nuptials are spiced up with some Latin flair

The possibility for romance seemed slim for Jill when she brought her mother as her "date" to her best friend's wedding. But that changed when she met fellow guest Mark. The pair hit it off, and at the end of the night, Mark asked Jill for her phone number. Both say they had no idea what the future would bring—Jill lived in Chicago, while Mark resided in Philadelphia. But the pastor's wife, who was seated with them at dinner, had a hunch: She turned to Jill's mother and said, "Those two are going to get married."
Despite their geographical distance, Mark and Jill developed a serious relationship. After their one-year anniversary, they visited Montreal for a long weekend. That Saturday night, as the couple was dining at a Thai restaurant, the hotel staff transformed their suite with candles, champagne and an all-white bouquet of flowers. When they returned from dinner, Mark popped the question. "It was really wonderful, a beautiful proposal," Jill says. "She started bawling," laughs Mark, who "didn't get the answer for ten minutes."
