Complementary style
Let the style of your wedding guide your transportation choice. A horse-drawn carriage, for instance, might seem a tad out of place at a beachside wedding.
Book 'em early
Start your search as early as possible. Book your transportation six months in advance—especially if you're getting married during prom season (May and June).
Do your homework
Get recommendations from friends and family members who have used transportation companies in your area.
Comparison shop
Talk to several rental companies before you sign a contract. Check with the Better Business Bureau to see if any complaints have been filed against any of the companies on your shortlist.
All-inclusives
Be sure to check with the reception hall or site about their parking facilities and services. If the facility doesn't offer parking attendants or valets, consider hiring some.
Who's coming
Get a firm headcount of all the people you'll be transporting and how many vehicles you'll need.
Test drive
Don't just order a vehicle online—see it before you book it.
Group travel
If your destination is remote, consider setting up parking at a nearby easily accessible venue and then shuttling guests in from there.
Assisted travel
If you're marrying on the grounds of a sprawling resort and the ceremony and reception areas are far apart, transport elderly guests who can't make the walk via golf carts.
