Getting Wired

The Idea: The bride at this early March wedding had her heart set on using fiddlehead ferns in her groom's boutonniere. But because of the extremely cold weather that week, they were unavailable. The quick-thinking florist at Jessica's Country Flowers handcrafted fiddlehead ferns using copper wire and paired them with a simple calla lily.

Why We Love It: Just because your favorite floral isn't in season doesn't mean you're out of luck—ask your florist about alternatives or creative re-creations. Using copper wire in the boutonniere is a modern and masculine option.
