THEIR STORY

The quintessential romantic flower, the rose, is a must for many brides planning a wedding, and Elizabeth Brostrom was no exception: She went so far as to incorporate thousands of them, in more than 100 varieties, when she married Dana Barat. The couple tied the knot at Rose Story Farm near Santa Barbara, CA, a site suggested by the bride's stepfather, a master rosarian who's designed gardens for Barbara Streisand and Oprah Winfrey. "I wanted a look that was simple and rustic, yet elegant at the same time," says Elizabeth, who selected her date according to when many of the roses would be in full bloom. —Betsy Goldberg
