For goodness cakes
We've seen it all when it comes to fondant cakes. They're lovely, but if truth be told, they don't taste all that great. But what if you could have your cake and (ahem) eat it too? One stop shop
Katriesa Raines got so fed up with the ins and outs of planning her own wedding that she skipped town (contracted venue, caterer, and all) to elope. But it wasn't all for naught. The designer behind timeless, 50s inspired local dress label Olive, was inspired to open Paisley Umbrella (2971 North Fulton Drive, 404-274-5432) - a one-stop shop salon where it's possible to plan dozens of tiny details bridal under one roof.

The icing on her cakes
A confession. I have a secret theory that groom's cakes always taste better. Could me a preference for chocolate. Could be that you can cut away just the pieces you want (disregarding making perfect cuts and looking like a frosting hog) and no without inciting "harumphs" from anyone looking over your shoulder. If you're of my school of thought (admit it or not) Lulu's Bakery cakes may be the answer to a search for truly interesting—and super delicious—works of pastry art.

Special desserts: local tres leches cakes
Tipsy cake layers— so 5 years ago! What you may want to try for a special cake this year is my personal favorite: tres leches cake. It's not exactly wedding cake material since it's a single-layer cake, but it works great for rehearsal dinners or parties. Here are two great restaurants whose Tres Leches are very different and incredibly tasty. Just remember to order a few days in advance.
