Destination Dahlonega: Weddings at Forrest Hills Resort

Don't be afraid of simple. If you're a girl who wants a lovely wedding in a natural setting but want to avoid the hassle required to pull off every detail by yourself, you should check out the wedding package options at Forrest Hills Resort, near Dahlonega.

Forrest Hills has several on-site venues for your wedding ceremony and reception, from a "Secret Garden" gazebo for an intimate wedding to larger garden and indoor areas, including a chapel that is automatically included in the outdoor space rentals in case of inclement weather.

What we like: your wedding party and you can all stay at the resort, and the "destination wedding" package is a great deal: you and your guests stay at the Mountain Laurel Inn, which has 12 luxury suites, a hospitality room, outdoor hot tub and 100-seat dining room—it's practically your own private hotel. And there's plenty to do in the surrounding area (Dahlonega) and at the resort itself, including horseback riding, swimming, hiking, or just hitting up the day spa for a facial or massage.

The best part, though, is the lack of hassle, since you can get just about everything except wedding attire and invites through Forrest Hills. There's even a horse-drawn carriage for those of you who want to have a fairytale entrance (or exit).
