Description:
The lawns and Victorian Carriage house at Woodburn Plantation allows the bride to plan the outdoor wedding of her dreams without "Big City" prices. Woodburn Historic House, c.1830, is a majestic 4-story plantation house on a 10-acre site that is operated by the Pendleton Historic Foundation as a house museum. Conviently located just off US76 in historic Pendleton, the grounds of Woodburn provide a beautiful outdoor setting for wedding ceremonies and receptions of all sizes in an authentic historical setting. The house museum will be open during the reception for guests to tour through the main floor.
The most popular site for wedding ceremonies at Woodburn is in front of the Victorian Carriage house with a brick patio and pathway leading to it for the bridal party. Many brides have also select the front steps of the plantation house or in the open lawn at the rear of the main house. The choise is yours!
The Foundation bases its grounds rental rates on the number of guests anticipated and the length of time needed. Most popular is the 8-hour package on the day of the event for up to 150 guests. There is a slight premium for each extra 100 guests up to a maximum of 400 guests. The Foundation offers an hourly rate with a 3-hr minium and a 5-hr maximum for weddings of less than 50 people.

The main plantation house is a majestic 4-story structure reminisant of "Charleston" architesture with wrap-around 2-level porchs on the front. The first floor porch is ideal for setting up buffet tables for food service.
How does your venue determine the cost of the space?
Cost is based on the number of guests anticipated and amount of time needed including time for set-up and clean-up afterwards. i.e. up to 150, 150-250, 250-350 and up to a max of 400 guests.
Do you offer any special services?
House museums will be opened for guests to tour through main floor during reception with up to 3 Foundation tour guides/docents present to provide history and background of the historic house and property.
Do you offer any special packages for rehearsal dinners?
Grounds rental fees for rehearsal dinners can be arranged on hourly basis using the rental equipment already on site for the wedding.

Everything needed for the wedding & reception can be rented from our preferred rental company, Tri-County Rental located in Easley, SC. There is an extra fee for the use of other rental companies.
