Built 1859 by a confederate surgeon Dr. Frances Luckey whom was at Appomatix when Lee surrendered. Dr. Luckey being a NC House politician for 2 years he played an important role in the politics of Rowan County. Upon Dr. Luckeys death Rev Brown bought the home in the 1890's.
