Do you offer live sample performances or CDs? Most of our live shows are Private Weddings and Corporate Events. We are working on videos in 2013. At times we do have performances that are open to the public and this is a great time to see our performance. Call to ask about Open performances.
Are you willing to learn songs that you do not currently know? Gladly, and we will learn more than one. We also can play your favorite songs on CD's during Breaks so there is no perceived "Break" in the music for your guests. The Celebration keeps rolling on without affecting the energy level in the room!
How much time do you usually need for setup? We allow 2 hours for set up before our performance time. If the wedding ceremony is in the same area as the reception, then we have to arrive even earlier so we are set-up and ready to go after the ceremony. There is an additional $150.00 Early set-up fee. If you would like us to play CD music during the Cocktail hour the fee is $250.00 and that includes the Early set-up fee and the recorded music.
How much space do you usually require? For the best Visual impact an area that is 15' wide by 8' deep looks the best, but we have special Bose music equipment & Chauvet LED lighting that allows us tremendous set-up versatility. We have actually set-up in Living Rooms of some of our clients. We have never been unable to set up in any area we were given.
Do you have a sign or banner that you use at events? We do not use banners or signs at Weddings
What (if any) special equipment, such as disco balls or lighting, is offered with your service? For Lighting we offer the latest foot operated LED stage lighting which can be sound activated for the dance sets later in the evening. I desired, we also feature moving pin lazers that are usually focused on the ceiling. Custom Uplighting for your venue is also available for an additional fee. Six Uplights are $300.00 additional and the choice of color is endless. This can add amazing ambiance to any setting. Indoors and out. Special Audio equipment you benefit from are our Bose Speaker systems that spread music softly and evenly throughout a space. These speakers are placed behind the musicians and allow the musicians to hear them as well as the audience. No other speakers systems offer this feature. They also allow the musicians to eliminate speakers(monitors) on the floor in front of the musicians. This cleans up the stage presentations and allows us to take up LESS room. They sound Fantastic! Another huge benefit to your Celebration is that although our drums appear to be Acoustic they are in fact electronic. How do you benefit from this? Many times regular drums will ruin the sound of a performance because they are to loud and can't be controlled. Our drums sound like Studio recorded Acoustic drums and the volume can be controlled by (1) knob! With our set-up you can comfortably seat your friends and family next to the band without the drums blowing their heads off!!
Do you usually emcee the event, or talk between songs? Our Lead singer Debbie is a great Emcee. She will coordinate all of your formalities with you and your other vendors. You can relax and enjoy your Celebration. To keep the energy up in the room we will make announcements when needed, but we usually roll from one song to the next without much talking.
How would you motivate the crowd if no one is dancing? Usually, if no one is dancing , it means you are playing a genre that this particular audience doesn't feel motivated to dance to. Sometimes, if it's early, it could mean that they just need a little more "liquid" motivation, but usually you need to start playing the most popular songs of different genres to see which genre/artist this audience likes. The ladies usually nudge the gentlemen onto the dance floor so watch the ladies reactions to different songs. Many times if you play a "sing-a-long" like Don't Stop Believ'n, this will bring guests onto the floor and start off the dance set. It is always nice if the Wedding Party will help initiate the dancing early.
What is your policy on taking breaks? If you need a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal? After 45 minutes to 1 hour the band takes a 15'-17' minute break , but your favorite music does not stop. We don't want to bring down the Energy in the room so we don't announce our break, instead we roll into 4 or 5 of your favorite songs on CD's and start up quickly after our break. Meals or Sandwiches from kitchen are entirely up to Bride & Groom. We do not ask for it.
Do you play recorded music during your break? We do play recorded music during our breaks. This is a great way for us to allow us to play pre-recorded music that we may not perform live. When you book with us we ask for you to pick 60 of your favorite songs from our playlist and also give us 15-20 of your favorite songs that might not be on our playlist. We will play your song selections on our breaks.
If one or more of the band members is unable to attend, what is your backup plan? Any truly professional show (including us) not only has back-up performers, but they should have back-up lights, musical equipment, good dependable transportation, cell phones, etc... Carrying the extra gear to each performance is worth the piece of mind for all of us.
What is your overtime rate? Extra full hour performance fee is $500.00 Extra full hour DJ fee is $300.00
Do you charge for travel expenses? If yes, how much do you charge? All of our price quotes are based on Google actual travel time for Events from Portland, Me. First 45 minutes= No charge.
What is the required deposit to secure your services? $750.00
