Description:
The Journey Home is the perfect place for a picturesque wedding, reception, and/or rehearsal dinner with close friends and family. As 2012 is our grand opening year, we have magnificent facilities for a very affordable price. For the use of our colonial home and historic tobacco barn, the cost is only $3000 for one day. We do not currently require you to use specific vendors or limit the minimum number of guests you invite.
Whether the activities take place inside the beautiful home, outdoors surrounded by nature, or in the rustic barn, the memories will last a life time. The layout of The Journey Home gives you several venue styles. A couple may have:
" A romantic sunset wedding on our beautifully landscaped front lawn
" A large outdoor wedding overlooking the beautiful horizon from our expansive south lawn
" A rustic wedding or reception in our historic tobacco barn.
" An intimate ceremony by the fireplace
" A regal wedding in our elegant front room complete with crystal chandeliers and curved stairway perfect for the bride's entrance.

The Journey Home is a majestic colonial farm home with a historic tobacco barn, situated on five picturesque acres, and surrounded by hundreds of acres of farmland. Located on a hill, the unique location offers amazing panoramic views of nature.
The Journey Home features abundant indoor and outdoor spaces to stretch out, meditate, and relax. The home has five large rooms that comfortably sleep twenty. On the lawn, one can participate in yoga or meditation sessions, take long walks in the clean air, sit under a shade tree, and eat fruit right off the trees.
Do you offer any special services?
Besides a wedding and reception venue, The Journey Home offers overnight accommodations for 20 people, a gourmet kitchen, and plenty of space for family and friends to gather. The General Manager is also an officiate.

Do you require clients to use a specific list of vendors?
No. We only require that all vendors be licensed and have proper insurance if needed.

No. We only require that all vendors be licensed and have proper insurance if needed. The Journey Home does not require an additional fee.
Do you have any special side rooms that can be rented out for the occasion?
The cost to use the facilities includes the use of the home, the barn, and the lawn.
Can the client provide their own alcohol if desired?
At this time, all alcohol must be served by a pre-approved bartender and consumed inside The Journey Home and/or the Tobacco Barn. No alcohol is permitted anywhere outside of the main building(s). This includes outside the front door, the parking lots, and the rear of building. Only packaged liquor may be consumed. Only caterers and persons holding the appropriate liquor licenses and permits pre-approved by TJH will be authorized to dispense alcohol only from the bar area.
What restrictions (if any) on decorations?
Renter agrees that decorations shall NOT be attached to the walls, ceilings, existing wall decorations, woodwork, ceiling fixtures, window treatments, by use of nails, staples, pins, tape (scotch or duct tape), staples, or adhesives of any kind may be put into walls, ceilings or floors. Plastic wire ties are acceptable, but must also be disposed of at the end of the event.
Alterations to the Premises are not permitted: pictures, lamps, furniture and other decorative accessories may not be relocated or removed from the Premises unless pre-approved by TJH. Beds may be moved next to each other during an overnight rental and must be put back into place at the end of the rental period.

Does your venue often accommodate more than one event at a time?
We can accommodate for one Renter at a time.
Do you offer security, if requested?
If alcohol is served, Security may be required for the duration of the event. If over 100 guests are expected, then two (2) security personnel shall be required. Determination of the need for security personnel is at the discretion of TJH and scheduling of said personnel is the responsibility of TJH. The cost of security will be the responsibility of the Renter.
Describe your bathroom facilities:
The Journey Home has four designer restrooms and three showers. The barn does not have plumbing, but portable restrooms are available for rent from local vendors.
Describe your parking facilities:
Parking is available in several areas on the grounds. The Renter may chose the location based upon photographic liberty.
