Services: Wedding Venue
Description: Centrally located on beautiful Marion Square, the Francis Marion Hotel is the tallest building in downtown Charleston, offering exquisite views as far as the Charleston Harbor. As a member of the Historic Hotels of America, the hotel was originally built in 1924 and reopened in 1996 after a $12 million award-winning restoration. We have three of the most beautiful ballrooms in the lowcountry. Two of our ballrooms were originally opened over 80 years ago and the architectural design is truly unique. Our gold chandeliers, 20 ceilings, tall windows, and fireplaces create the perfect setting for an elegant wedding reception. The Colonial Ballroom can accommodate up to 255 guests reception style or 200 guests for a seated dinner with space for a dance floor and a DJ. Live Bands reduce the amount of people we are able to accommodate in each ballroom. The Gold Ballroom can comfortably accommodate up to 200 guests reception style or 150 guests for a seated dinner. The Carolina Ballroom was an addition to the hotel 9 years ago and it features a terrace overlooking Marion Square Park. With 4,500 square feet, it can accommodate up to 450 guests reception style or 350 for a seated dinner. All functions include setup and breakdown services, tables, chairs, white linens, china, silver, votive candles, dance floor, stage for a band and assistance in coordinating on site details for no additional charge.
