The David Mack Band is CT's most versatile four-piece dance band with nearly two decades of experience. Whether your preference is Pop, Rock, Reggae, R&B, or Motown, we've got the sound you are looking for - all for an affordable price.
Our songlist is always changing, but we never forget your old school favorites. Whether your event is a small or large wedding, we have the emsemble to fit your venue and budget. The Dave Mack Duo, for instance, includes Dave and Myra complete with full sounding backing tracks. That means, you pay for two, but the sound is that of a full band with all the instrumentation. The equipment used on these performances is as small as a fence post with a beach cooler. Taking up as little space as possible for portability and the ideal setting of a living room, back porch or even an apartment.
Lead Vocals & Guitar - Dave Mack, a 20 plus year veteran, who toured during the early 80's with Samaki & the Variations in support of the hit single "Can't stop the break". In the early 90's, Dave also traveled with the legendary "Cool Runnings" reggae band in support of their album "Don Garrgon." Cool Runnings was voted by the Hartford Advocate's reader choice poll as "Best Reggae Band" five years straight.
In 1996, Dave formed Funk Food andthe following year, they received the Hartford Advocate's "Best Funk Band." Soon after the band changed its name to The Dave Mack Band. Dave recorded produced and wrote the bands first album in 1999, "14 Grooves" which sold over 6,000 copies throughout CT. The group now performs in support its latest CD "Ole skool Lovin," which is #6 ranked locally on reverbnation.com (50% of all sales going to Oxfam to help support impovershed families around the world).
Lead Vocals & Percussion - Myra Mack (Dave's wife) has been performing with the band for three years. A former vocal student of the Harford Conservatory, she collaborated with Dave on their latest CD. Her mezzo soprano voice offers a sweet sultry sound with a beauty and edge not matched by many. She finds inspiration from many of today's strong female artists including Pat Benatar, Stevie Nicks, Adele, Sade, and Melissa Etheridge - variety again is shown in her performance.
Drums - David Henry is probably the most versatile and professional drummer in the state of CT. David is also a 20 plus year veteran who was responsible for all the bookings, management and drumming for Cool Runnings. Dave has also played with The Jon Pousette Dart Band, Bates Motel, The Brian McDonald Band, Burt Teague, Jeff Pitchell, and many other bands in the New England area.
Bass Guitar - Jeff Cummings is the newest member of the band. However, he has over a decade of experience playing with many local bands including Johnny Larson and The Funk Brothers. Jeff is a dynamic individual whose musical influences are as varied as his dance movements.
