Frequently Asked Questions for DJs
What music genres are in your collection? 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, Acoustic, Big Band, Classic Rock, Classical, Country, Dance, Folk, Funk, Gospel, Hip Hop, Jazz, Motown, Oldies, Orchestra, Pop, Punk Rock, R&B, Rock, Soul, Strings, Swing, World
Do you have liability insurance? Yes
Is there a limit to the amount of music that can be requested? There is no limit for the amount of music that can be requested. It's your wedding, we want it to be exactly like you are wanting. Some brides and grooms like to pick out everything, some don't even want to even think about music. The best advice we can give, is for you to decide what artists and genres you enjoy, and together with our experience as a DJ and your preferences, we can create a fun list of dance songs for your reception. During dinner is also a good time to play songs that you enjoy but that may not be very danceable.
What is your usual attire? We are always dressed professionally - tux and cocktail dress, unless instructed otherwise (beach wedding, theme, etc.)
If you do not have one of the songs pre-requested by the client, do you require that they provide it? We will provide any song that is available for purchase.
How many other DJs do you work with? We work 100% together. Randy is the MC, and Stacie is the DJ. We are at every wedding. We never have a hired DJ show up in our place.
What is the minimum amount of time you will DJ for? When you book us, we are yours for the whole day. Any amount of time is fine.
Is the client able to meet the DJ before booking? We always prefer to meet with our clients and to get to know you before your wedding.
Can the client submit a do-not-play list? Yes, we always honor a do-not-play list, if you have one.
Do you bring your own equipment? Yes, we have the highest quality of equipment and Bose speakers.
What (if any) special equipment, such as disco balls or lighting, is offered with your service? We also offer uplighting and gobos (monogrammed initials, name, etc. in lights on the dance floor or wall.) It is a nice way to add a very beautiful element to your wedding.
How much time do you usually need to set up? Do you require that the site or client provide a table for you to set up on? We love to be early! We like having at least 3 hours, if that is possible. No, it doesn't take that long to set up our equipment, but we always like having plenty of time to do everything. This is your day. There is only one chance to do everything right. And no, we do not need a table. We are self contained.
Do you have a sign or banner that you use at events? We do not use signs or banners. This is your wedding, not our show. I feel they are tacky and disrespectful to clients.
Do you usually emcee the event or talk between songs? Randy is the MC, and adds an element of fun to an event. There is a big difference between a professional MC that talks at appropriate times and an annoying and cheesy one that won't be quiet.
How would you motivate the crowd if no one is dancing? It depends on if you consider the amount of people dancing to determine the success of your event. We don't have a problem getting on the dance floor ourselves and getting people to join us. We want to create an inviting atmosphere where your guests will feel like it's ok to have fun. On the other hand, however, there have been some weddings where the bride and groom did not want much dancing, for religious or other reasons. And those events can be just as fun. Hiring a professional MC makes sure that your guests are entertained, even if they are sitting.
Do you book yourself for more than one event in a day? We only book one event for each day. We always want you and your wedding to be our primary focus. You wouldn't want our time and attention split between another wedding.
What is the required deposit to secure your services? We only require a 10% deposit upon signing a contract.
