We can even help you create a preset menu of music to suit your individual tastes. Soul Seasonings adds flavor to your event with our executive chefs de musical cuisine, Jill (Vocalist/Band Manager) and Dave (Saxophonist/Musical Director). We can add a teaspoon of bass, a pound of drums, half a pint of fresh piano, four level tablespoons of boiling hot guitar, and/or a dash of keys and organ to satisfy the musical cravings of you and your guests and the acoustics of any size of venue. Band Manager's Bio: Jill Desiree Lead Vocalist * Band Manager * Music Teacher After earning her BA in Vocal Performance from the Berklee College of Music in 2004, Jill has worked as a session singer for many music groups in the US and abroad, as well as directed and managed her own bands. She frequently performs with general business bands for weddings, corporate functions and private parties. After spending five years based out of Sydney, Australia, Jill recently relocated to the United Sates. She currently resides in Los Angeles. Aside from being a performer, she teaches private contemporary music lessons and coaches vocal students of all ages. He practiced diligently and was a working musician by the time he entered high school. In 2004, he graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Berklee College of Music (Boston, MA) with a BA in Saxophone Performance. After graduation, David moved to Los Angeles to work as a session musician, sideman, and musical director. He also keeps a steady rotation as a private saxophone, piano, and jazz theory instructor in the San Fernando Valley. He performs regularly with several local jazz and pop acts in the Los Angeles area. How much time do you usually need for setup? One to two hours, depending on the size of the ensemble and the location of the venue.
How much space do you usually require? Depending on the size of the band, we can work with most venues
Do you have a sign or banner that you use at events? Yes, unless otherwise requested.
What (if any) special equipment, such as disco balls or lighting, is offered with your service? PA systems, microphones and small lighting equipment.
Do you usually emcee the event, or talk between songs? Yes we do.
How would you motivate the crowd if no one is dancing? Depending on the type of crowd, reach out to the audience and tell some jokes.
What is your policy on taking breaks? If you need a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal? Approximately 15 minutes break between sets, we usually play pre-recorded music during our breaks to avoid silences. Meals would be greatly appreciated but not necessary.
Do you play recorded music during your break? Yes, we do.
If one or more of the band members is unable to attend, what is your backup plan? We have a great list of Los Angeles session musicians that would sub for our regular band members
What is your overtime rate? Approximately $100 per musician per hour.
Do you charge for travel expenses? If yes, how much do you charge? Yes we do, it would be factored into your final quote.
What is the required deposit to secure your services? 20% to book the date. 50% two weeks before the event. Balance should paid before or on the day of the event
