Slice at a Time specializes in cakes that are simply gorgeous on the outside and incredibly tasty on the inside. This is possible because everything I bake is made from scratch with my own signature recipes that I've spent countless hours to perfect. My Buttercreams are only made with real butter andno shortening. The smooth velvety texture is unlike any other Buttercream you've ever tasted! As you browse through my site, you'll see that I specialize in Fondant Covered cakes. The clean lines and smooth surface that fondant provides makes for some wonderfully unique design options. My cakes are priced by the slice based on the design desired.
Does the price include the top tier of the cake?
Yes. I always recommend that you serve your top tier, and then I offer a complimentary 1st Anniversary cake. All you have to do is email me about a month before your anniversary and I'll have your FRESHLY baked Anniversary Cake all ready for you and love to enjoy!
Do you offer custom cakes, or do you work with pre-designed styles?
I offer custom styles, but love to see the type of cakes my brides like. I then use those ideas to design their custom cake.
What (if any) special ingredients, such as fresh fruits or farm-fresh butter, do you use in your cakes?
All my cakes are made fresh from scratch from my own recipes. No box mixes or pre-made fillings or butter creams are used at all in making my cakes.
On average, how far in advance of the event do you prepare the cake?
My cakes are all baked no further than 2-3 days in advance of the Wedding Date. This ensures the freshest most tasty cakes for my brides to serve to their guests.
How many cakes do you schedule for a typical weekend?
One to two wedding cakes per weekend, but never two on the same day. I want to make sure my brides get the highest quality work I can provide, and I do this by making sure I have plenty of time to dedicate to each cake.
Will you work with the client's florist to garnish the cake?
Yes. I will also place the flowers on your cake free of charge if you order extra flowers from your florist to ensure they will match the rest of your decor at you reception.
What (if any) cake accessories, such as a cake stand or cake cutter, do you rent out?
I have a few cake stands available for my brides use, and I also have 2 large cupcake towers for their use as well.
Do you offer delivery? If yes, how much is your average delivery fee?
I offer free delivery within the Huntsville/Madison area. Any further than that it is a $1.50 per mile.
