McLean, Ph.D. is an ordained interfaith minister who works with gay and traditional couples to have a ceremony that reflects their own religious, spiritual or philosophical viewpoint. She works to make each custom ceremony unique and one to remember! She has been performing weddings for over twenty years throughout Maryland, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Virginia and Washington D.C. She has her Masters Degree in Pastoral Counseling, so if you should choose to do premarital counseling she is trained to do this. She has her doctorate in Religious Studies and Sacred Traditions and has studied most religions and many philosophies. Can you accommodate the hearing impaired? No

Are you willing to perform a ceremony at a non-religious site? Yes, I perform weddings in many sites and locations including historical venues, couples' homes and yards, chapels, restaurants, reception venues, my home chapel and other places

What is your attire for the ceremony? I usually wear a black evening dress for evening weddings or a black or white suit with tea length skirt.

Are you flexible in the wording used throughout the ceremony, including the vows? If a couple requests a custom wedding, then we choose the wording upon the suggestion of the couple or from the selections in the packet

Do you allow the couple to write their own vows, if desired? Yes, for custom ceremonies

Do you have a list of readings pre-selected, from which the couple must choose? I have an entire booklet of samples including about 50 readings, but will also allow the couple to choose readings of their own choice.

How long are your ceremonies? Around 25 minutes

Do you require that premarital counseling be done? I recommend it, but do not make it mandatory. I have samples of pre-marital topics and allow the couples to choose what they would like to have counseling about should they decide to have premarital counseling.
