Knickerbockers' catering started in 1975, coinciding with the wine boom in the Napa Valley. Although we are the oldest catering business in the Napa Valley, Knickerbockers' approach and cuisine remain vital and fresh as a result of constant input and association with many of the top chefs and event co-coordinators in the country.
Upon his retirement in 2009, Tony Knickerbocker sold the catering business to longtime partners Chefs Shannon and Christina Kelly. Chef Shannon Kelly was trained in France by Maitre Du Cuisiniere, Josphe Tuet, during their stints as Sous Chefs for Domaine Chandon's Restaurant in Yountville. Chef Kelly's participation with wine auction events and other food and wine related meals has exposed him to such food luminaries as Julia Childs, Dean Fairing of Mansion at Turtle Creek in Dallas, Chef-Jojo of Summit Restaurant in Chicago, and Italian Television Cooking Star, Osvaldo Baroncelli. These enhancing experiences result in wonderfully creative and expertly executed meals for you.
Our service staff is led by Joanne Blicker whose many years in the event business have enabled her to prepare for and execute any size event with the utmost professionalism and attention to detail.
