Description: Nicole Gesmondi is a graduate of the Hartford Art School with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography. Nicole reflects on the first time she picked up her first Camera Bug 110 camera at age (6) and photographed anything and everything ranging from family members to zebras at the zoo. Two decades later, Nicole carries out her passion by weaving together fine art photography and wedding photography to create unparalleled images. Nicole creates the medium through which people can carousel back to the most meaningful events in their lives. BEFORE THE WEDDING: Selecting a photographer can be an overwhelming process especially if you are not sure of what you are looking for. Nicole takes the time to slow down with the bride, to expose what the bride wants to remember decades after her wedding. THE WEDDING: Nicole is a girl in love and loves photographing other people in love because every couple has a story and its this unique story that is reveal in the images she creates. Shell capture the details that you planned that often get overlooked and unobtrusively photographs the day. AFTER THE HONEYMOON: Nicole pairs her artistic images with a unique handmade interactive coffee table books that you will want to look at long after your wedding day. 15 or 20 years later when you sharing your wedding album with your grandchildren, the images carousel you back to the day. In addition to these special albums, she also offers framed and matted enlargements and canvas wraps. Frequently Asked Questions for Photography
What primary photographic style do you identify with? Contemporary
What do your packages include? Albums, Custom Graphic Design, Digital Files, Flush Mount, High Resolution Images, Prints, Proof CD of All Images, Thank You Cards
Do you have liability insurance? Yes
Do you have experience shooting in various lighting situations? I was formerly trained at the Hartford Art School and earned a BFA in Photography which has prepared me for unique lighting situations that often occur at weddings and events.
How many photographers do you work with? All of our photography collections include myself and my fiance. We've been photographing weddings together for 6 years. Having two photographers allows us the capture your day from many different angles and also acts as back up equipment. Between the two of us, we have six camera bodies and over 18 different lenses.
Do you guarantee your presence at the actual event? Absolutely. When you hire Nicole Gesmondi Photographer, LLC you get Nicole Gesmondi and Paul Lavallee as your photographersi! Of course, should something happen to either of us and one of us physically cannot be at your wedding (sick, broken leg, death in the family), I will have a professional photographer step in for me to photograph your wedding. Paul and I will still retouch your images and will be your contact throughout the ordering process.
Do you sometimes book yourself for more than one event in a day? Weekend? We only book one wedding per day and I also try to avoid doing more than one wedding per weekend. This allows us to focus and provide the best possible photography and service to our clients.
Do you have a replacement photographer in case you become unavailable on the day of the event? I have a network of professional photographers that would be happy to cover for me if I am unable to attend your wedding. {examples: death in the family or extremely ill}. As I mentioned above, a replacement photographer would just photograph your wedding. We would still edit their images and be your contact throughout the rest of the ordering process.
What kind of equipment do you typically bring with you on the day-of? We typically bring 4 Nikon camera bodies, 14 lenses, 4 flashes, lots of batteries and memory cards to photograph your wedding. We also have a portable lighting kit in case we need to shoot formal shots inside. We also pack a large umbrella in case in rains. We have you covered! :-)
Do you bring back-up equipment to the event in case of malfunction? Yes. See above.
What is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal? Between the two of us, we never really take a break. We do reserve 30 mins for us to eat dinner and we require a hot meal.
How soon after the event are the proofs ready for viewing? Unlike many local photographers, we process all of our own images which allows us to have your images ready for pick up within 4 weeks of your wedding date. Images will not be posted into your online gallery until you have come to view your images in the studio.
In what format are the initial proofs offered? You will receive all of the images taken during your event on a DVD as well as an online password protected website for your guests to view and order pictures.
Do you retain the copyright for the photos? Yes. The client receives limited copyright allowing them to print photographs at their own labs and for back up purposes. We remind all of our clients that our monitors are calibrated to our lab therefore we cannot guarantee the quality of other labs. Remember, that copyright is more than just making reprints, make sure you discuss and understand this when you meet with your photographer.
Do you reserve the right to publish the photos? Yes: our contract states that we retain the commercial copyrights and can use their images for advertising purposes on our website, print ads and online sites such as facebook, WeddingWire and The Knot.
Do you provide the digital files and/or negatives (or copies of the negatives) to the client? Our philosophy is "photography as art". While we do include our clients wedding images on disc, we do believe that a disc is not part of the final product. Images on disc are which great for back up purposes. But professional wedding albums are a tangible item that is cherished long after the wedding day.
Will images be available for viewing online? We offer each client a private protected online gallery at no extra cost to them. Their images will be active online once they come in to view their wedding images. Your guest love to view the images from your day and should they order anything, we do the order processing and mail their orders directly to their home so you don't have to!
What kind of albums do you offer? We offer two different style wedding albums: coffee table books and flush mount books. When you come in for your initial studio visit, we'll review everything we offer.
When will the client get the final album? Depending on which album you select, turnaround time is anywhere from 5 - 9 weeks.
