Description: Every couple deserves to have their memories preserved so they can tell their story to their children and grandchildren. I Am a Storyteller & And So Are You Your wedding is not only part of your story, it tells the story of who you are as a couple. All the details, the interaction, the laughter and tears: ALL of that is the outcome of who you are, your story as individuals and as a couple. Moments created, scripted and posed by a photographer dont do very much to capture that story. As a photojournalist, I have spent my entire career capturing natural unscripted moments. Over the years, I developed a style that combines artistic styling and great moments. I am a Designer Once we have all those beautiful photos, what to do with them? Many expensive wedding albums are ruined when the photographer tries to design them -- throwing photos together in a haphazard design that is visually confusing. Unlike many photographers, I also studied design in college, and in fact, I got paid as a page designer before I ever made a dime as a photographer! Your album is designed to showcase your photos, and not let the design get in the way of those beautiful images. The two of you are the star of this design! The result: A gorgeous album full of natural, storytelling moments from your wedding day. I Am a Professional As a member of the Arkansas Professional Photographers Association and the Professional Photographers of America, I have pledged to maintain a degree of professionalism and quality. I spent many years educating myself about photography, and earned a degree in photojournalism from the University of Southern Mississippi. I take pride in the quality of my work and promise to never deliver anything to you that is not a professional quality image. I Am Arkansas Wedding Photographer of the Year (Twice!) For the second year in a row, I was named Arkansas Wedding Photographer of the Year, based on images submitted to the annual Arkansas Professional Photographers Association print competition. This competition is not a popularity contest; it is completely anonymous and judged solely on the quality of the work submitted. It is judged by prominent professional photographers from around the country.

Frequently Asked Questions for Photography
What primary photographic style do you identify with? Photojournalism
What do your packages include? Albums, Custom Graphic Design, Digital Files, Flush Mount, High Resolution Images, Matted Prints, Thank You Cards, Video Montage
Do you have liability insurance? Yes
Do you offer special techniques such as hand-coloring or toning? I keep post-processing and special techniques to a minimum, to provide a classic look that will stand the test of time.
Do you have experience shooting in various lighting situations? As a journalist, I have been in nearly every imaginable lighting situation. Some of my most beautiful photos were taken in Africa, where almost no one has electric lighting! I like to work with beautiful natural light and supplement it, not overwhelm it, with my own lighting techniques.
Is your media preference film or digital? I shoot mostly digital, but I began my career (long ago!) as a film photographer, and I still like to play with it from time to time.
How many photographers do you work with? I am the main shooter at all weddings and I have a wonderful second shooter available when requested.
Do you guarantee your presence at the actual event? Yes.
Do you sometimes book yourself for more than one event in a day? Weekend? I never double book. Once your date is reserved, I book no other events on that date. I want to be able to turn my entire attention and resources to your wedding. Occasionally I can accept more than one event on a weekend, but I judge on a case-by-case basis. However, on the wedding day, I don't book anything else -- not even a portrait session.
Do you have a replacement photographer in case you become unavailable on the day of the event? I have a network of photographers who I have worked with and who can provide an able replacement in case of any emergency that would prevent me from being present on your wedding day. These are photographers that I have worked with closely and know are capable of shooting a wedding with comparable style and quality to what I offer myself.
What kind of equipment do you typically bring with you on the day-of? I use professional Nikon equipment, including two camera bodies, a wide range of lenses for different looks and lighting situations, and an assortment of lighting equipment that is easy to carry and set up.
Do you bring back-up equipment to the event in case of malfunction? I always bring backup equipment in my camera bag so that I am never without an immediate replacement for any gear that might fail.
Do you charge hourly or full day? I charge a package rate, with the package including wedding day coverage and products that are most popular with couples.
Are you available to shoot extra hours? If yes, how much do you charge for extra hours? Extra hours are $300 per hour. These can be negotiated at the initial meeting, added before the wedding, or on the wedding day itself. I will not bill additional hours without consulting with you.
What is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal? Honestly, I am the worst about not taking breaks ... It's hard to make myself take breaks when there are photos happening! I take one or two essential breaks, usually during dinner. If I'm not close to the bride and groom, chances are I'm getting something pretty set up in the way of lighting or a special photo.
Do you charge for travel? I do not charge for travel within the state of Arkansas or for trips to central Mississippi. Other travel is based on distance and the necessity of an overnight stay.
How soon after the event are the proofs ready for viewing? The proofs are ready for viewing online within a month.
In what format are the initial proofs offered? Proofing is done through the online gallery. I do not offer paper proofs except upon request, because of the waste involved. I try to run as "green" a business as possible.
Do you retain the copyright for the photos? I provide a copyright release that allows the couple to print or use the photos for any personal use.
Do you reserve the right to publish the photos? Yes. However, if the couple requests that they not be published I do not publish them out of respect for the vendor/client relationship.
Do you provide the digital files and/or negatives (or copies of the negatives) to the client? I provide digital negatives with all packages.
Will images be available for viewing online? Yes.
What kind of albums do you offer? I offer beautiful, luxury albums made in Italy. Much of the process is done by hand, and the albums take a little longer than machine-made albums, but they are worth the wait.
When will the client get the final album? Albums are usually delivered four to six months after the wedding, depending on how long it takes the clients to choose photos for their album.
