Description: Mary Stephan Photography is an artistically driven studo with a contemporary style. It is important to me that your wedding not be a template for the one after you. All of my weddings are one of a kind as are my albums. I spend time with my couples on the engagement shoot to get to know them so that when the wedding comes I know who they are, what makes them tick, how they look together and whether they like more traditonal, artsy, 40's glam, vintage, urban...whatever the desire, I love to find ways to make it beautful. No two weddings are alike as no two people are alike. My job is to make you look amazing as a couple in the most natural way. My lighting is one of the reasons my couples hire me. I am skilled at knowing how to sculpt with light, to use it to my advantage making the photogaph exciting, alive, and most importanly beautiful. Do you have liability insurance? Yes
Do you offer special techniques such as hand-coloring or toning? Yes, I use any artistic medium available to me to give you photographs that are truely amazing!
Do you have experience shooting in various lighting situations? I love various lighting situaions as in every situation with a potential difficult light, you can turn it into something beautiful if you know how to channel light.
Is your media preference film or digital? Digital
How many photographers do you work with? I have a pool of photographers I use and I usually only go to a wedding with one as I do not want to lose control of the creative process.
Do you guarantee your presence at the actual event? Yes, and that is a VERY important question!!! I believe that if you spend money to hire me, you should get me. That is a question that should be asked of all wedding photographers.
Do you sometimes book yourself for more than one event in a day? Weekend? I do not book more than one wedding a day.
Do you have a replacement photographer in case you become unavailable on the day of the event? Yes, I have several.
What kind of equipment do you typically bring with you on the day-of? Everything I need to make it unique. I do not give out my secrets but I do bring more than a camera : )
Do you bring back-up equipment to the event in case of malfunction? Absolutely. I believe in being prepared for everything.
Do you charge hourly or full day? Full day or part but not by the hour.
Are you available to shoot extra hours? If yes, how much do you charge for extra hours? Yes, if I need to stay a little longer, I do not charge. If you specifically ask me to stay 2 hours longer, it would be $100 per hour.
What is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal? I generally get lost for a minute or 2 right after the wedding and after I have a few shots of the receiving line. I am preparing for my formals.
Do you charge for travel? Yes, a small fee.
How soon after the event are the proofs ready for viewing? 2 weeks
In what format are the initial proofs offered? Digital
How long can the client keep the proofs? A few weeks
Do you retain the copyright for the photos? Yes
Do you provide the digital files and/or negatives (or copies of the negatives) to the client? Copies
Will images be available for viewing online? Yes
What kind of albums do you offer? They are all "One of a Kind". The quality varies depending on what you want to spend.
When will the client get the final album? After I have the files, it usually is a month or so.
