Frequently Asked Questions for Photography
What primary photographic style do you identify with? Contemporary, Photojournalism, Portraiture
What do your packages include? Digital Files, High Resolution Images, Proof CD of All Images
Do you have liability insurance? Yes
Do you offer special techniques such as hand-coloring or toning? I edit all of my photos professionally in Photoshop.
Do you have experience shooting in various lighting situations? Definitely. My ideal lighting situations are sunrise and sunset, which brings out a nice warmth to the photos without creating too many harsh shadows. I also love overcast skies, as it provides an even light on everything. It's ideal for skin tones! But honestly, a good photographer makes every lighting situation work. Be it ideal light or not, a photographer should be able to adjust to ANY situation!
Is your media preference film or digital? All digital, baby!
How many photographers do you work with? All of my packages are for one photographer (me), but you can add a photographer on for an additional price!
Do you guarantee your presence at the actual event? Most definitely! I'm all over the place, but somehow manage to stay out of the spotlight without intruding in your big day!
Do you sometimes book yourself for more than one event in a day? Weekend? I do not book more than one wedding in a day. It varies on a case-by-case basis with whether I book more than one wedding in a weekend, but I never overload myself. If I double-book in a day, it's with portrait sessions. Portraits are more relaxed and you can dictate the schedule for those.
Do you have a replacement photographer in case you become unavailable on the day of the event? In my contract, I state that if I cannot for some reason photograph your wedding, I can either find you a photographer or you can find one on your own. It's up to you, but I most certainly won't leave you empty handed if you need my help finding one!
What kind of equipment do you typically bring with you on the day-of? Two professional digital camera's, three lenses, three flashes, two battery packs, one tripod, multiple memory cards, battery chargers and a couple of camera bags.
Do you bring back-up equipment to the event in case of malfunction? Every time.
Do you charge hourly or full day? Packages are broken down into 10 hours, 8 hours and 6 hours. Customized hours for an event can be quoted on request.
Are you available to shoot extra hours? If yes, how much do you charge for extra hours? Yes, I am. I usually charge between $150 - 300 per hour, depending on the event.
What is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal? Only one, when I eat lunch/dinner!
Do you charge for travel? Yes, and that's on a case-by-case basis. I do not charge for travel if you are in the greater DC, Northern Virginia and Maryland area.
How soon after the event are the proofs ready for viewing? Six weeks or less.
In what format are the initial proofs offered? You receive the DVD's of all of your photos (color and black and whites) in high-resolution JPEG format. You also receive a proof book of 100-200 of your best photographs, in color format.
How long can the client keep the proofs? They are yours to keep.
Do you retain the copyright for the photos? You have copyright release once you receive your photos to print or use them however you like.
Do you reserve the right to publish the photos? Yes, unless otherwise requested I have full permission to use your photographs for the promotion of Lisa Boggs Photography. I do have some brides who request I run the photos by them before I publish them somewhere, so I can offer that as well.
Do you provide the digital files and/or negatives (or copies of the negatives) to the client? Yes, they are on DVD's that are delivered to you after your wedding, in color AND black and white formats.
Will images be available for viewing online? Yes.
What kind of albums do you offer? I offer a professional, hand-bound albums of many sizes that can be created after your event.
