Description: We are a talented team of professional wedding photojournalists that provide our clients with beautiful, distinctive and artistically rendered images that capture the essence of every aspect of their special day. It is always our intention to spoil our clients with a level of personal service and attention that is unmatched in our profession. Every wedding solution we offer is tailor made to fit our client's budget and unique needs; no two clients are alike, so we approach each client's wedding like a project. Our approach is methodical, but not mechanical, we're warm and friendly and spend time getting to know our clients before their big day. You may ask, "Just how do you do that, exactly?" So glad you asked. We talk on the phone, we meet you face to face to show you our portfolios and some sample albums; however, the most important thing we do is we shoot you a lot before the wedding. We develop a relationship with our clients, we become friends, we develop trust and we help you to relax and enjoy being in front of the camera before your wedding day. You are probably thinking aloud, "How do you do that?" Again, great question. We shoot an engagement session, a bridal session and a 'Cherish the Dress' session. In fact, be forewarned, we're going to bring some gear and shoot you on the day we meet to discuss your wedding. Are we confident you will love the images? You bet; but, more importantly, we want you to be confident of our talent and expertise as well. We think the best way to establish trust is to show you and not tell you. If you are looking for a truly comprehensive approach to documenting your wedding, relax, you found us. We provide wedding coverage with one, two, three or four photographers. Ensuring every nuance, guarded moment, unscripted event, unbridled display of joy or touching outpouring of raw emotion will be recorded by one of our talented professional photographers. When you review your beautifully captured images you will experience your day all over again from a new and completely different perspective. Your images will flow chronologically from your preparation in the dressing room to your excited departure for your honeymoon. We are wedding photojournalists that concentrate on capturing unscripted and candid moments, but we understand the importance of capturing the formal images of the wedding party and the families that mean so much to you and your loved ones. Instead of static and stoic images, we take great pride in our ability to create formal portraits that look anything but posed; you deserve, and will appreciate, the beautiful fine art portraits well create on your wedding day. We believe what elevates our studio to a higher level is our collective passion for photography, the attention to detail we provide to our clients needs and desires, our commitment to ensuring our clients are completely satisfied and our understanding that your wedding is not about our photography, but instead, our photography is about your wedding. We focus our efforts with a single-minded purpose, that you relax and enjoy your day; you will not have to give your photography another thought. Every service or product we offer has been designed or carefully selected to add value for you, our client. We offer premium service, superior quality and creative, unique and artistic results at reasonable prices. Our primary market is Atlanta, but we're available for any wedding location; we absolutely adore destination weddings, we all have current passports and we are available for worldwide travel. The truth is we absolutely love to photograph weddings. Weddings are challenging, fast moving events that are subject rich environments. Each wedding is as unique as each of our clients and each wedding is an artistically and emotionally inspiring event. What we have discovered is that no matter how many weddings we shoot, at each wedding we experience the exhilaration and the magic all over again; it never gets stale for us and every wedding feels like our first wedding. Intrigued? We hope so. Click on the link below and let's have a conversation about your wedding. We promise to listen intently as you tell us about your glorious love story and we'll tailor a solution for your photography needs that will be as unique as you are and will fit your wants and desires like a beautiful white glove. Please know that we would be honored to be your wedding photographers and we would be so proud to add you to our long list of ecstatic clients. You have our sincere assurance if you choose Jeffrey Franks Photography to document your wedding it will be a decision you will never regret. Contact Jeffrey Franks Photography

Frequently Asked Questions for Photography
What primary photographic style do you identify with? Contemporary, Photojournalism, Portraiture, Traditional / Posed
What do your packages include? Albums, Custom Graphic Design, Digital Files, Flush Mount, High Resolution Images, Matted Prints, Prints, Proof CD of All Images, Thank You Cards, Video Montage
Do you have liability insurance? Yes
Do you offer special techniques such as hand-coloring or toning? We proof ready all images selected for our clients. We hand tone any image selected by a client as part of the process of preparing an image for printing in Photoshop; we also create a category of 'Studio Picks' and tone those images for each client's event to provide our clients with a selection of our personal favorites. Our studio uses the best Photoshop actions or plug-ins available and keep our library current when improved versions arrive or a hot new plug-on or action appears on the market. We also have a number of unique Photoshop actions that we have created exclusively for studio use, we don't market these, which gives our images a unique and distinctive appearance. We can tone an image in a variety of ways and we will generally present you with about 25% of your images in black & white. This is a highly subjective process, remember since we shoot digital exclusively we can convert any image to black & white, sepia, selenium or a very broad range of special color or monochromatic toning effects. We will offer suggestions, but your wish is our command; you can have any image toned anyway you want it.
Do you have experience shooting in various lighting situations? Absolutely, we are experts in all types of lighting equipment; from a reflector to a 100 watt video light to camera and off-camera speedlights to studio flash. I use Elinchrom Ranger RX AS and Elinchrom Ranger Quadra battery powered power packs to power studio strobes in remote locations. These lights are phenomenal, and they create the incredible 'pop' in images that only those very fast and powerful strobes can give you. Creating exceptionally beautiful photographs is always a byproduct of generating or capturing the beautiful light and shadow essential in any work of art. We're experts at creating proper lighting when available light is, well, not available. We believe creating beautiful light when it does not exist is what distinguishes a good, but inexperienced, photographer from an exceptional, experienced and competent photographer.
Is your media preference film or digital? All of our photographers shoot digital exclusively. Not to say we will never shoot film and we love the work of many great film photographers, but digital works best for us.
How many photographers do you work with? Three professional photographers and three aspiring photographers that assist and shoot.
Do you guarantee your presence at the actual event? Yes, I will be the lead photographer at your wedding.
Do you sometimes book yourself for more than one event in a day? Weekend? I only book one wedding a day so you will have my full and undivided attention.
Do you have a replacement photographer in case you become unavailable on the day of the event? Yes, I have three. I have never been forced to use a replacement photographer; however, I trust the three photographers who shoot with my studio implicitly to do a superb job.
What kind of equipment do you typically bring with you on the day-of? Six professional Digital SLR cameras: a Nikon D4, a Nikon D800E, a Nikon D800, two Nikon D3s bodies and a Nikon D3x. The Nikon D4 and D3s bodies are my primary cameras and they are the best low light cameras in the world, it's an amazing camera that can shoot clean images at very high ISO in very low light. I shoot very fast professional glass in focal lengths from an 8mm circular fisheye all the way to a 400mm super telephoto. I use very fast glass, meaning I can shoot in low light conditions or can shoot wide open (very large apertures of f/1.4, f/2 or f/2.8) to create very shallow depth of field that makes the subject 'pop' against a very deliciously smooth background. Additionally, I have tilt-shift lenses in 24mm, 45mm and 85mm focal lengths for some really amazing architectural applications, to create that really cool miniature look and feel you may have seen and to create some extraordinarily soft, dreamy and romantic shots that isolate the beautiful bride in all her glory. Additionally, we use a variety of professional lighting equipment: speed lights, Quantum portable flashes, video lights, portable (battery powered) Elinchrom studio strobe flash equipment, large panel and hand held reflectors, diffusers, scrims, gobos, snoots, stands, softboxes, umbrellas, etc...
Do you bring back-up equipment to the event in case of malfunction? Absolutely! I generally have three professional camera bodies on, or near me, during the event to reduce lens changes, but also to provide redundancy should a camera body malfunction. I broke a camera, physically shattered the small LCD on the back, once and I never slowed down. Having backup equipment is an absolute must; all my photographers are prepared for any such contingency. As a client, you should demand that your photographers have redundancy in their equipment.
Do you charge hourly or full day? Full day, we shoot by the event and not by the hour.
Are you available to shoot extra hours? If yes, how much do you charge for extra hours? No such thing exists for us. If you book us you receive 12 hours of coverage. If your wedding event lasts longer than 12 hours, that's not a problem, we stop shooting when it's over.
What is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal? If your event will be longer than 8 hours, most are, then "Yes, please" we would appreciate it if you feed us. As for breaks, we're dynamos. We may take a quick break to go to the rest room or get a drink of water, but we're there to shoot and the only time we generally don't shoot is when everyone is eating during the reception; just to be polite.
Do you charge for travel? Not unless the wedding is outside the metro Atlanta area. We're pretty liberal on that as well. Call us and we'll work something out. We do destination weddings as well and we will travel to any location in the world you desire. Travel considerations will be included in the wedding package and we expect our clients to reasonably compensate us for travel and lodging. Destination weddings are really fun for us, so if you are thinking about getting married at some exotic location we're the ones jumping up and down with our hands up in the air.
How soon after the event are the proofs ready for viewing? Within 4-6 weeks your images will be online and a short time after that your proof DVD will be on the way to you; that is a conservative estimate we generally deliver within two weeks. 4-6 weeks is a guarantee, but it will likely be considerably sooner.
In what format are the initial proofs offered? Any format you would like. Generally, we present them in a password protected online gallery. We use PickPic, simply the best product available for this purpose. To expedite the arrival of your images, and provide a large viewing size on your computer screen, we use Dropbox, a free online storage service that provides 2 GB of space; plenty of room to upload your proofs that your are free to share online with your cyber friends and your family. We also send all our clients a DVD with their images in a larger computer screen resolution to assist in the selection process. However, if you would like 4x6 proofs in a very nice proof box, a book bound or sprial bound proof book, for example, or even an album of your proof images we will oblige and offer those services at a very reasonable additional charge. Each wedding package is a custom proposal for each unique client. We respect your budget and your needs; we tailor our services to meet each of these important considerations. There will never be any surprises; all services are itemized and listed in plain English in your proposal and on your contract.
How long can the client keep the proofs? They are yours, forever, indefinitely.
Do you retain the copyright for the photos? Absolutely, the images were created with our equipment and it was one of our eyes in the viewfinder and one of our fingers on the shutter. This can sometimes be a very confusing concept for people hiring a photographer for the first time. I own the copyright for all my work, but I license the usage of that work, or I produce reproductions of that work, for my clients. Think of the issue of copyright like this, if you were to write a book and then contract with a publisher to print and sell the book, you would retain the copyright; it was your original work. You sold usage rights to the publisher to print and publish your book; the publisher would pay you the negotiated fee. If later, a movie studio wanted to make a movie from your book, they would come to you to negotiate usage rights to make a film from your book. They would not negotiate with the publisher, they do not hold the copyright, unless you had sold them the copyright. Does that help? If not, call me and we can discuss it further. It may seem a little complex, but it's really not, and it is nothing to be too concerned about. From your perspective, you want access to the images and you shall have that access via usage rights I will grant to you.
Do you reserve the right to publish the photos? I do, but not for commercial purposes. In other words, I will not license your images to be used in an advertisement campaign without your express permission, but you might see your images on one of my websites or one of my blogs and that will be the extent of it. If I am approached to use one of your images in a commercial campaign I would contact you and I would need your permission, and you would be entitled to compensation for the use of any images with your likeness for commercial purposes. Fair enough?
Do you provide the digital files and/or negatives (or copies of the negatives) to the client? Yes, we do provide high resolution digital files to our clients. This occurs generally at the end of the album creation process. Many photographers do not provide their clients high resolution images or they charge a hefty fee. I don't for two reasons. First, I want my clients to have a sense of well-being. If the images are in their possession it is one additional safeguard to prevent permanent loss of the images in the event of a catastrophe (don't worry I have an extensive and well thought out strategy that I employ for file backup). Second, I don't find it ethical to use your images in a capacity that does not enhance our relationship. They are your images, and yes I retain copyright, but that is a completely separate issue. So I will not extort you with your own images and I will provide you with a copy of your images.
Will images be available for viewing online? Yes, within 4 to 6 weeks your images will be posted to your own private online gallery. Don't be surprised if they are available much sooner, but I promise to have them online not later than 6 weeks after your wedding.
What kind of albums do you offer? We offer a wide assortment of wedding albums, parent albums, grandparent albums, signature albums, etc... We only deal with vendors that offer high quality products. Now that is not to say that all products are high end and very expensive albums. There is a great variety of different products available that can fit within any budget. We will work with you to provide you with an album, a coffee table book, or any other product that tickles your fancy; a product that will fit within your budget. You'll find us easy to work with and we're reasonable on our pricing; in other words, we believe in giving our clients what they need or want and providing a great value for their money.
When will the client get the final album? Creating an album is a process. It is hard to specify an exact time frame because so much depends on the client approval process, once we have final approval of the design from a client the album will be delivered within 4 weeks.
