I took my first real photos in the summer of 2000. From the moment the film was developed I knew photography was something I wanted to pursue. Three years later I attended USD for a short time in pursuit of a more reasonable career choice. I spent the summers of 2004/05 in Sitka, Alaska selling art at a local gallery. With the support of my family and friends, I changed my career path and headed to Chicago to learn the art of photography. During those years in Chicago I worked through school as a tourist photographer. In December 2006, I graduated with honors from Harrington College of Design: AAS in Photography. I opened the business shortly after and, in the Fall of 2007, built my studio. Because of the country setting, Im able to offer a variety of studio and outdoor shots. I believe... ...photography should be affordable for everyone. ...that time flies too fast when we want to stop and enjoy it. ...the best pictures happen at moments when we least expect.

Yes - we've shot in bright daylight all the way down to candle light.
Is your media preference film or digital?
I shoot digital format.
Do you guarantee your presence at the actual event?
By signing our contract and completing payment we are guaranteed to be at your event (pending any act-of-God or other severe situation).
Do you sometimes book yourself for more than one event in a day? Weekend?
We NEVER double-book (2 weddings in 1 day).
Do you bring back-up equipment to the event in case of malfunction?
We bring a minimum of 2 cameras and several spare batteries for the event. Furthermore we bring several strobes (for church weddings) and light modifiers.
What is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal?
Usually we schedule in our breaks. If we are required for the reception images we ask that the couple provide us with seating and a meal - it's not very professional to have your photographers huddled in a corner chowing down McDonalds! We sit and visit with your guests during the meal and are therefore able to work during our break (i.e. catch the kiss).
Do you charge for travel?
We charge for travel only further than 100 miles from Mitchell, SD.
Do you retain the copyright for the photos?
I retain the copyright and the release to use images for advertisement and promotions HOWEVER the couple will receive a copyright release to allow them to print their own images.
Do you reserve the right to publish the photos?
Yes.
Do you provide the digital files and/or negatives (or copies of the negatives) to the client?
We provide a disc of edited images. These are typically lightly retouched including glasses glare (if removal is possible) and clearing up any blemishes (on the formal images). If there is something specific that needs to be edited we ask for it in writing prior to the wedding.
