I began learning to decorate cakes at 13 years old under the instruction of Charlotte King. My first wedding cake was for my best friend in June of 1985, and it has continued ever since that time, but mostly just for friends and family.
In February 2010, I entered a full display at the Elko Bridal and Events Show in conjunction with the Hilton Garden Inn of Elko, NV. I offered plenty of visual enticement, as well as samples of cake, cookies, french macarons (not macaroOns, very different), chocolates, and buttermints. Although I've been at this for many years, I haven't been officially "in business" until this year when I was asked by the Hilton Garden Inn. I immediately began booking weddings for 2010, and had quite a load on my hands. As of August 2012, I am now working with Donuts N Mor of Elko, Nevada, which means I have talented people to help me and don't have to turn down so many orders! Yay!
I do this because I love it, and I love being able to provide something very personal and customized for each couple, and help make their wedding day something really special for them and all their guests. I strive for perfection: it must taste great, and look great - and I make it all myself.

Yes

Do you offer private tastings or open house tastings?
Private tastings can be arranged, but I need a few days notice.
Describe how you price, such as by slice or by tier, for your cakes?
Priced by the slice, plus certain extras you may choose can add to the cost.
Does the price include the top tier of the cake?
The top tier of a wedding cake is not counted in the number of servings, and is my gift to you.
Do you offer custom cakes, or do you work with pre-designed styles?
I offer totally customized cakes - I can also mix ideas together or make alterations to a pre-designed style. In more than 25 years of making wedding cakes, I have not made exactly the same cake design twice.
What (if any) special ingredients, such as fresh fruits or farm-fresh butter, do you use in your cakes?
Depending on the recipe, I use real butter, eggs, fruit, and other fresh ingredients. I offer many flavors and am always open for finding a new one!
On average, how far in advance of the event do you prepare the cake?
Depending on size of cake, I may start baking 3 to 4 days before the wedding in order to complete the cake the night before the event because a properly made cake is at least a 3-day process (feel free to ask me for further details).
How many cakes do you schedule for a typical weekend?
I can usually only handle 2 weddings on the same day, and I get booked early in the year so you'll want to get your event on my calendar as soon as possible.
Will you work with the client's florist to garnish the cake?
Fresh flowers on your cake is not a problem.
What (if any) cake accessories, such as a cake stand or cake cutter, do you rent out?
The use/rental of any necessary equipment is usually included in the price of the cake but we also have some special items available for rent, such as lighted cake or cupcake stands, fountains, etc.
Do you offer delivery? If yes, how much is your average delivery fee?
There is no charge for delivery and set-up within the Elko area.
