Description:
Harp Occasions provides beautiful harp music for weddings, rehearsal dinners, cocktail hours, bridal showers and receptions! Mostly I play alone, but some brides want to add a flute, a violin, a cello, a vocalist, or whatever ensemble works for the event..
I love to play anything on the harp, which may include Gregorian chant, Lady Gaga, Bach, jazz, ragtime, Broadway, love songs, movie themes (even the Twilight music), and of course classical and hymns. I have played for theme weddings: (medievel, horsewoman, vintage, Beauty and the Beast etc.) Recent success with a new drum machine and a violinist playing U2's "Beautiful Day" for the recessional! It's fun to figure it out with the bride, and then make it happen! Creativity is good for the brain, and provides a great celebration as well. Of course I do a lot of traditional weddings as well in most any kind of venue. Yes, I play in churches, but more often in the spring, summer, fall, at country clubs, restaurants, vineyards, vintage homes, or wherever the bride selects.
During the week, I play for birthdays, anniversaries, corporate events, holidays, grand openings and other events in homes, party.

Musicians usually wear black. I have some ''fancy" dresses in other colors, so it depends on the occasion!
Do you offer live sample performances or CDs?
I have a wedding CD on the harp with 31 songs.
How much time do you usually need for setup?
I generally need 1/2 hour to move and tune the harp (47 strings), so I arrive at least one hour ahead of the wedding to be ready to play preludes
30 minutes prior to the ceremony.
How much space do you usually require?
4 feet wide by 6 feet long.
Do you charge for travel expenses? If yes, how much do you charge?
Not unless it's out of the greater Charlotte area.
