"The greatest thing about photographing weddings is the energy I get from all the people involved. The eagerness, the love, the craziness -- all the emotions -- are food for my soul. I feel especially honored to be the one hired to capture this emotion with my camera, for the enjoyment of you and your family.
I seek out the subtleties and the nuances. I take advantage of the natural light and shadow to provide the dramatic flair that will lend impact to the image. And as I do my work, I am conscientious of the energy in the room and how to use or enhance it to get the images that will still excite you years from now. The style I embrace is photojournalistic fashion, fine art, and avant-garde.
Every wedding is a great adventure, which is to say you can always expect the unexpected and really experience people as their truest, most authentic selves. That's why I love being a photographer.
Documenting a wedding, and the emotions surrounding it, is a true challenge. I live for that challenge. How does one capture the essence of a moment when a soul is laid bare? How can one capture stillness and subtlety in the midst of chaos?
Believe it or not, it takes a lot of intentionality, and often a lot of preparation, to get that great "candid shot." It requires an absolute immersion in the moment. The photographer must be completely, utterly present!

What do your packages include?

Do you have liability insurance?
Yes
Do you offer special techniques such as hand-coloring or toning?
We correct for color and exposure to all images during post processing. There are no additional charges to convert images to black & white, sepia, or selective coloring.
Do you have experience shooting in various lighting situations?
In most instances, weddings and receptions generally occur in less than optimal lighting. That being said, we shoot in these conditions all the time and have all the proper equipment to compete with it.
Is your media preference film or digital?
Digital
How many photographers do you work with?
Grace & Elegance Photographery has two photographers. That being said, I personally shoot all my weddings, but I'm affiliated with five other photographers in the event additional coverage is needed.
Do you guarantee your presence at the actual event?
Yes, I personally shoot all my weddings and I don't work more than one wedding a weekend.
Do you sometimes book yourself for more than one event in a day? Weekend?
No, I only work one wedding a day and one wedding per weekend.
Do you have a replacement photographer in case you become unavailable on the day of the event?
Yes, I have a primary back up ,as well as I work with a tight knit group of photographers in the event of an emergency or as needed for second shooters. These photographers blend with both my personality and photographic style.
What kind of equipment do you typically bring with you on the day-of?
I shoot with Nikon bodies, lenses, and flash.
Do you bring back-up equipment to the event in case of malfunction?
I have several back up Nikon bodies, lenses, and flashes in the event of an equipment malfunction.
Do you charge hourly or full day?
Most of our packages comes with eight hours of coverage. Anything over that is $175.00 an hour.
Are you available to shoot extra hours? If yes, how much do you charge for extra hours?
Yes, we are available to shoot extra hours at the rate of $175.00 an hour.
What is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal?
The only break taken during the event is during dinner. We ask the client to provide us a meal.
Do you charge for travel?
We do not charge travel time for weddings in Maryland, Washington DC, or Northern Virginia.
How soon after the event are the proofs ready for viewing?
Proofs are typically available for viewing on our website 3-4 weeks after your event.
In what format are the initial proofs offered?
All digital proofs are securely uploaded to our website for viewing and purchasing.
How long can the client keep the proofs?
The proofs are viewable on our website for three months.
Do you retain the copyright for the photos?
All images are provided to the client on DVD with a full release three months after the wedding.
Do you reserve the right to publish the photos?
Yes, I reserve the right to use your images for promotional pieces.
Do you provide the digital files and/or negatives (or copies of the negatives) to the client?
Yes, three months after your event we will provide you hi resolution JPEG digital files. These files are not watermarked, and you have full rights to reproduce them!
Will images be available for viewing online?
Yes, your images will be available for viewing through our secure website.
What kind of albums do you offer?
All of our albums are flush mount and come with various cover types such as leather, canvas, acrylic, and brushed aluminum.
When will the client get the final album?
Once the client has selected the images for their album, and has approved the layout, the album can be delivered in as early as two weeks. Delivery times can vary based on album style.
