Encore Baking Company, formerly known as Sweet Encores, has been making unforgettable wedding and specialty cakes in St. Louis since 1989.
We custom blend our icing colors to match virtually any fabric swatch, invitation, or room dııcor. Our hand crafted sugar flowers are individually made with such attention to detail, they are often mistaken for real blossoms. Unlike other bakeries, our decorations are completely edible.
After many years working professionally in the pastry industry, Francie started her own buisness Sweet Encores, Inc. in 1989. She operated out of her own home so she would be able to stay home to raise her children. After three years of establishing a loyal customer base, she moved the business into a retail shop on Hampton Avenue in South St. Louis, and remained in business for almost twenty years. Francie and her business partner decided to close Sweet Encores in December 2007. Francie was encouraged to continue by many of her loyal customers, and because of her love of decorating and designing cakes she reopened in Maplewood as Encore Baking Company.
Francie continues perfecting her skills as an artist and cake designer. Her skill was not taught by textbooks, but instead, she received invaluable skills through apprenticeship under some of the best bakers and pastry chefs in St. Louis over the past 30 years.
