Do you have liability insurance? Yes
Do you offer special techniques such as hand-coloring or toning? All of your images are processed for color, exposure, contrast, and sharpening. Special techniques are also applied when applicable, such as facial retouching, removal of unwanted foreground/background elements, teeth whitening, eye sharpening, etc. We apply creative processing techniques including color, texture, and toning to a varying percentage of your final image proofs. We base our post processing decision making on your personal style, and the overall style of your wedding. Your images are a direct reflection of you, and the story of your wedding day!
Do you have experience shooting in various lighting situations? It's all about light baby! We are trained and experienced in working with natural lighting (sunlight), ambient lighting, and both on and off camera flash. We love working with both natural light and on-location studio lighting, and often combine the two for stunning and unique portraits and candid shots. We have ample experience with the different qualities of sunlight depending on the hour-by-hour changing angle of the sun, and we base your outdoor portrait sessions on optimal lighting and your preferred taste and style for your photos. We are experienced in shooting in any and every lighting situation (indoors and outdoors, including in pitch black!), and we have more than adequate equipment to take on even the most challenging of scenarios! A professor once described photography to me as "painting with light", and I truly believe that it is!
Is your media preference film or digital? We work exclusively in digital, however we began our study of photography in traditional film, with ample shooting and darkroom processing experience. We are available to shoot film upon request (contact for details).
Do you guarantee your presence at the actual event? Yes. You are not booking "photography" for your wedding, you are booking us as individual photographers & artists. We do NOT "hire out" photography jobs. We rely on our own talent and experience to ensure perfection for your wedding day photography.
Do you sometimes book yourself for more than one event in a day? Weekend? We book more than one event per weekend, unless otherwise mutually agreed upon by the client and Elle Imaging.
Do you have a replacement photographer in case you become unavailable on the day of the event? We actively engage in our community and associate with many other professional photographers. In the case of an unfortunate occurrence, we have a number of talented and reputable associates we can call upon to fill in for Elle Imaging and keep your wedding or event on schedule.
What kind of equipment do you typically bring with you on the day-of? We bring a minimum of two DSLR Camera bodies and 7 lenses, including midrange (17-55mm f/2.8), wide angle (11-16mm f/2.8), telephoto (70-200mm f/2.8), prime (50mm f/1.8, 85mm f/1.8, 50mm f/1.2), and lensbaby Muse (double glass). We have extensive lighting equipment for on and off camera flash, including four wireless strobes, umbrellas, lightstands, softboxes, and more. We own more than $8,000 in professional photography equipment and we am constantly investing in even more!
Do you bring back-up equipment to the event in case of malfunction? We have several back up camera bodies, lenses, strobes, stands, and umbrellas.
Do you charge hourly or full day? We charge by the hour with the option of a full day unlimited package.
Are you available to shoot extra hours? If yes, how much do you charge for extra hours? We charge 150. per hour for additional hours at your wedding. You can add extra hours onto your wedding package in advance, or you can add extra hours the day of.
What is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal? For a wedding or event lasting more than four hours, we do require a meal. This is the only time during which we will take a break, and generally we will rotate so one photographer is always "on duty".
Do you charge for travel? We do not charge for travel up to 40 miles from Tega Cay, SC. Past 40 miles, we charge $1/per mile traveled. For long distance travel (200 miles+), discounted travel rates may be applied.
How soon after the event are the proofs ready for viewing? We post several images to facebook right away (usually the same night!) so that you can see some of your most cool, creative, and fun shots right away! We will also friend request you to tag you in your photos, which you can accept or decline (it's okay! you won't hurt our feelings if you decline!). Your proofing album of online images will be ready to view in three to six weeks. High resolution images on DVD with copyright release will take up to eight weeks to process & mail.
In what format are the initial proofs offered? Proofs are offered through your password protected online album.
Do you retain the copyright for the photos? Elle Imaging retains copyright to use your images for portfolio, print, competition, and display purposed.
Do you provide the digital files and/or negatives (or copies of the negatives) to the client? We offer digital negatives on DVD with copyright release! Once you have your high resolution images on DVD, you are free to print, post, etc. as you please! That's right, you OWN your photos! (isn't that how it should be?)
Will images be available for viewing online? Couples & individuals who choose not to purchase copyright released images will have a password protected album available for thirty days for portrait sessions; sixty days for weddings & similar events. You can share your password with family & friends for viewing, and to order prints, albums, and wall art directly through your site!
What kind of albums do you offer? we offer hardcover and lay flat custom designed albums. For album design, we ask you to choose several dozen of your favorite images, and we use these as a basis to build a "storybook" album of your big day. We also offer custom illustration for album covers.
When will the client get the final album? You will receive your custom designed album six to eight weeks after you have submitted your image choices.
