Frequently Asked Questions for Videography
What primary style do you identify with? Cinematic, Documentary, Short Form, Storytelling
What do your packages include? Ceremony, Edited Video, High Definition Video, Montage - Wedding Highlights, Multiple Videographers, Online Highlight Films, Pre-Ceremony, Reception, Rehearsal Dinner
What formats can the final video be in? DVD
Do you have liability insurance? No
What types, such as unedited footage or special effects, of videography do you offer? We do not offer or sell unedited or raw footage from the wedding production. DHY Productions exclusively holds the rights to the original and finished production. As for special effects and graphics in the edited video, it is the sole discretion of the editor to pick what type of special effects or graphics are to be used in the final production.
Do you have lighting equipment to accommodate a more dimly-lit event? We use on camera LED lights. The illumination of these lights offers luminous, soft, directional lighting which does not interfere with the color characteristics in the room. The light is flicker-free and heat-free. Best of all it is not as hard of a light on the eyes like some lights out there, thus it shouldn't be intrusive.
How many videographers do you work with? Depending on the package I typically work with one other.
Does the client get to meet the videographers before the event? I prefer to meet with the client before the event as it is a great way to get to know more about one another beforehand as well as great way for them to become comfortable with me. Also its nice to talk more indepth about the wedding shoot in person as I may have not included some details when talking on the phone or through email with the client.
Do you guarantee your presence at the actual event? I am the lead cinematographer so I will be at every wedding shoot.
Do you book yourself for more than one event in a day? Weekend? I never book myself to more than one event per day. Its rare I have two events in one weekend, but it has happened.
What kind of equipment do you typically bring with you on the day-of? The cameras, the tripods, the audio system which includes the shotgun mics, and lavalier microphone for the ceremony. Occassionally my second shooter will use a steady cam or slider for some shots too.
What is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal? We request that we be given a 30 minute meal break. The client agrees that they will provide dinner and refreshments of the same quality and in the same location as any attending guest for all DHY Productions videographers.
Do you charge overtime? Additional hours of coverage not included in the described packages may be purchased at the current rate of $150 per hour, per camera.
Do you give access to your raw footage? Raw footage is not provided at this time.
Do you reserve the right to use the video in the future for deals, contents, etc.? Yes.
Is the client involved in the editing process? If so, how much input does the client have in editing? The client is not involved in the editing process however in the wedding contract we do ask certain questions that will provide great feedback to the editor during post-production.
How long does it take for the client to get the final video? Typically 8-12 weeks depending on how backlogged we our.
