Description: Bohemian Red Images is a full service photography business started in 2007 by Katie Basbagill. Katie believes that there is no substitute for human interaction, so she is committed to getting to know each client on a personal level in order to best capture and tell his or her story. For the past two years, BRI has been voted among the top 15% of all wedding vendors nationwide and is committed to keeping the photographic process as streamline and fun as possible. BRI only creates tailored estimates that meet the individual wants and needs of clients rather than operating with a cookie-cutter or package methodology; focus is also placed on utilizing Internet communication options for proofing and album ordering. All albums are custom designed heirlooms with hand picked images that will retell your story for generations to come. In addition to custom albums and wedding coverage, BRI offers a modern photo booth option that provides high quality images of guests against a simple white background. Clients should expect to spend between $2600-$3700 working with BRI, depending on album or photo booth add-ons. Bohemian Red Images offers all wedding clients a complimentary engagement photo session too! BRIs photographic style has an unconventional, bohemian feel that seeks to capture and tell accurate stories about life moments. With BRI, youll find a mix of natural and fun expressions coupled with colorful and textured backgrounds and details. Clients that have worked with BRI often say, I hate having my picture taken, but that was fun! BRI is 100% committed to social responsibility. In addition to donating 10% of all album sales to reputable charities, BRI has 8 years of experience documenting Human Rights issues around the world and believes that everyone deserves education, access to clean water, and the opportunity to live free from exploitation. Frequently Asked Questions for Photography
What primary photographic style do you identify with? Contemporary, Portraiture
What do your packages include? Albums, Custom Graphic Design, Digital Files, High Resolution Images, Prints, Proof CD of All Images, Thank You Cards
Do you have liability insurance? Yes
Do you offer special techniques such as hand-coloring or toning? No.
Do you have experience shooting in various lighting situations? I have experience in almost every lighting situation imaginable.
Is your media preference film or digital? My preference is digital as it is important to me to keep the turn around time for my clients to a minimum.
How many photographers do you work with? I always have a second photographer/assistant with me photographing weddings because, though I wish I had this superpower, I cannot be in two places at once.
Do you guarantee your presence at the actual event? I guarantee my presence at every event (provided something catastrophic doesn't happen to me). In the event that I am unable to attend a contracted event, I secure a replacement equal in skill set.
Do you sometimes book yourself for more than one event in a day? Weekend? I never book two events in one day. I have booked myself on a Friday/Saturday, but that has happened only two times.
Do you have a replacement photographer in case you become unavailable on the day of the event? Absolutely.
What kind of equipment do you typically bring with you on the day-of? I currently have one of the most relevant and cutting edge Canon camera bodies on the market along with several state of the art lenses. I bring light setups as well as spare batteries, lenses, memory cards, flashes and an extra camera body.
Do you bring back-up equipment to the event in case of malfunction? Absolutely. I always have back up equipment.
Do you charge hourly or full day? I typically go by hourly coverage.
Are you available to shoot extra hours? If yes, how much do you charge for extra hours? I am available to shoot extra hours. The rate is $300/hour.
What is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal? The only break I will take during the day is when the Bride and groom are eating (since photos of people chewing food aren't the most flattering). I do ask that my client provide a meal for myself and my assistant as it has proven to be the most efficient way for us to get a meal in.
Do you charge for travel? I charge for travel that's more than 30 miles from my studio (if it's driving). For out of state jobs I charge travel expenses + $300/day that I am not shooting a wedding but have to be out of town.
How soon after the event are the proofs ready for viewing? A preview of the wedding is ready one week from the wedding which includes around 50-100 images. All proofs are ready around 4 weeks after the wedding and at most 6 weeks.
In what format are the initial proofs offered? The initial proofs are offered in digital format.
How long can the client keep the proofs? The client can keep the low resolution proofs.
Do you retain the copyright for the photos? I retain the copyright for everything I photograph. This means that I can sell images, put them in contests, and use them on my website. I do, however, allow clients to have limited usage (if they purchase digital negatives) so they can get prints made.
Do you reserve the right to publish the photos? Absolutely.
Do you provide the digital files and/or negatives (or copies of the negatives) to the client? I provide digital files if the client chooses to purchase them. Do they automatically come with every session? No.
Will images be available for viewing online? Yes! I love technology!
What kind of albums do you offer? I offer leather and linen albums. They are printed on acid free archival paper which will last forever.
When will the client get the final album? When the client gets the final album is up to them. If a client takes his/her time in selecting images to go in the album, it will take longer. Afte the final selection of images has been made and all revisions are done, it usually takes about 8 weeks (max) for clients to get their albums.
