Description: Ben Jamieson Photography offers creative wedding photography services throughout the islands of the Bahamas. My style is a blend of photojournalistic, candid, contemporary and traditional, resulting in timeless memories by clients cherish forever. I am a preferred wedding photographer of The One&Only Ocean Club, Atlantis Resort, Compass Point Beach Resort, the Wyndham Nassau and the Sky Beach Club in Eleuthera. When not shooting weddings, hanging with my wife, daughter and our three rescued dogs, I can often be found shooting families, newly engaged couples, and, more recently, boudoir photography. I'm also heavily involved with various charities in the Bahamas, including the Ride For Hope and Ranfurly Children's Home, both of whom I offer my services to at regular times throughout the year. Please take a moment to look at some of my work and if you would like to know more, just drop me an email (I often can't answer the phone if I'm shooting, so email is the best way to contact me) Thanks for reading, and congratulations! (Sorry about the slightly cheesy portrait of me - I'll replace it soon, I promise!)

Frequently Asked Questions for Photography
What primary photographic style do you identify with? Contemporary, Photojournalism, Portraiture, Traditional / Posed
What do your packages include? Albums, Digital Files, Flush Mount, High Resolution Images, Matted Prints, Prints, Thank You Cards, Video Montage
Do you have liability insurance? Yes
Do you offer special techniques such as hand-coloring or toning? Some images just cry out for a little extra care to really make them shine, which can involve a black and white conversion, hand colouring or other creative manipulation. I do not simply 'press a button' in these cases - a single black and white conversion can take hours to achieve the perfect toning and balance. Each image is tweaked manually to ensure the work done to it suits the style of the image. I do not use dated techniques such as spot colouring, soft focus effects, or process that are a current 'fad', and ensure that all post processing will keep the images timeless.
Do you have experience shooting in various lighting situations? Being a wedding photograher, I've shot on the brightest beaches under mid day sun, to the darkest receptions on our out islands (there is no ambient light once the sun sets in some of our more remote locations!) I've photographed in the rain, the sun, the wind.
Is your media preference film or digital? With the flexibility and incredible quality of today's high end digital camera systems, I have chosen to be strictly digital. Images from professional digital cameras still need to be 'developed' - we just use a computer instead of a darkroom, but the ability to then share those images as digital files *or* prints is a huge advantage
Do you guarantee your presence at the actual event? Yes. I work alone, and so will always be the photographer at your wedding.
Do you sometimes book yourself for more than one event in a day? Weekend? Absolutely not. I limit myself to 2 weddings per week to ensure that I am always at my best on your day, and to remove delays in getting your images to you after the wedding.
Do you bring back-up equipment to the event in case of malfunction? Yes. I have two camera bodies at all times, and a range of lenses, lighting equipment, batteries, memory cards etc to ensure I am covered if one or more items malfunctions.
Do you charge hourly or full day? My rates give the option of set packages, or 'a la carte' pricing allowing you to build a package that suits your needs and budget.
Are you available to shoot extra hours? If yes, how much do you charge for extra hours? I will always talk with you half an hour before my time is due to be up to see if you may want me to stay. All my rates are laid out in my pricing information to ensure there are no surprises on the day.
What is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal? If you book me for 4 or more hours, I will need a supply of water, and to eat at some point. Normally, you would ask your planner to ensure there is a sandwich or similar available for me during your own meal. I don'[t take photos of people eating, so can use this time to recharge myself.
Do you charge for travel? If your wedding is on an island other than New Providence or Paradise Island, I will need to charge for air travel and, if required, overnight accommodation. I have relationships with hotels and resorts on most of our islands which allow me to keep those costs to a minimum.
Do you retain the copyright for the photos? Yes. Copyright for all images remains with me, but images are provided with full non-commercial, home use rights, allowing you to share, and print images, but not sell them.
Do you reserve the right to publish the photos? Yes. I do try to write up each wedding on my blog, and may want to use images from your wedding in my main portfolio.
Do you provide the digital files and/or negatives (or copies of the negatives) to the client? Yes. All packages include final images at full resolution for printing and sharing.
Will images be available for viewing online? Yes.
What kind of albums do you offer? I offer a range of albums, from simple photobooks, to very high end flush mount leather albums.
