Description: Avalanche Violin and Guitar specializes in performing elegant, acoustic live music for weddings in the Truckee~Lake Tahoe area of the Sierras, the San Francisco Bay area, the Napa and Sonoma Valley Wineries and for special destinations by request. The blending of the strings of the violin and guitar creates the perfect ambience for guests of all ages to enjoy. Avalanches classically trained professional musicians Liz and Don have played at more than 800 weddings together. Avalanche provides conversation friendly background music in several styles including Classical, Jazz, Broadway, Bluegrass/Celtic and Popular Rock (the Beatles, Jason Mraz, Jack Johnson, Rascal Flatts, Coldplay and more). Listen to over 30 music samplers on their web site. Optional services include a ceremony sound system rental.

What is your usual attire? Liz wears all black and Don wears a black suit, white shirt and tie. They will wear other colors or styles of attire by request.
Do you offer live sample performances or CDs? Avalanche has over 30 samples of their duo on their web site. There is a full CD available for purchase.
How much time do you usually need for setup? Although Avalanche only requires about 10-15 minutes to set up, they arrive about 30 minutes before they are scheduled to begin playing background music for the seating of the guests.
How much space do you usually require? Liz and Don require 2 armless chairs which are located in approximately 5 feet by 3 feet of space.
