Crazy ideas fuel my [passion] as a photographer. I [love] my life as a photographer. I can be creative, edgy, geeky, innovative, sentimental, and outgoing. Me. As a sentimental photographer, [photography] to me is very similar to keeping a ticket stub from your favorite concert. You know that moment is going to pass, but you want to remember that feeling over again. So the very piece of paper in your hand now has more meaning than just words. They are now your memories. It's the same with an image. The image has a story, meaning, [life]... so much more. Who was there, what did people wear, was grandma dancing. Remember when? Those are my joys of photography.
I studied journalism and telecommunication at the University of Florida. Although I did not want to be a news anchor, which is what our college is known for, it did land me one of the greatest experiences for any film student to have was a camera production assistant on HBO's First Mini Series with Tom Hanks' From the Earth to the Moon. Thank you Dr. Leslie Smith! I learned everything about photography: exposure, lighting, composition and then [storytelling] styles from the different types of directors. It's the life experience that shapes the style of an artist.
Moving around a lot growing up, I learned to adapt quite well. I made new friends where ever I moved to and kept in touch with old friends. You learn different cultures, religions, and political perspectives.
So when it comes to what I do for a living... I AM A PHOTOGRAPHER. I can not be more passionate about it. Nothing makes me more happy to capture moments of love that people will have forever and their families feeling comfortable with me to relax and let their personalities shine through.
