Description: The Amber Room Colonnade offers an idyllic setting in which to host your special day. Since 1979, The Amber Room Colonnade has established itself as one of Connecticuts most prestigious reception sites, and a destination venue within New England. We welcome the opportunity to be of service to you in making your wedding day a memory to last a lifetime. The estate features twenty-six private acres of meticulously-landscaped gardens, courtyards, bridges and lawn, highlighted by a 10,000 square foot elegantly-appointed ballroom, which is divisible in two, to accomodate intimate affairs of 40 to grand celebrations of 700. Each ballrooms covered outdoor veranda provides the perfect ambience to host cocktail receptions and ceremonies. Your guests will savor the award-winning cuisine of Executive Chef Chris Hatzis, while our hospitality professionals attend to their every need. We pride ourselves on our commitment to personalizing each wedding to reflect the personality of our bridal couples. Two state of the art tents providing coverage for our stone verandas, ideal for cocktail receptions, al fresco dining, and opens to our beautiful courtyards & spacious lawn.
How does your venue determine the cost of the space? The Amber Room does not charge a site fee for your reception. There is a set fee for on-site ceremonies, which includes chair set-up, ceremony space selection, and professional personal maitre d' coordination.
Do you offer any special services? The Amber Room prides itself on offering professional event design & decor services to enhance your reception. Services include customization of specific themes, lighting, decor, entertainment, and menu enhancements. We are also proud to share the culinary talents of our Pastry Chef, Monica Banas, for creation of our delicious wedding cakes, and viennese delights which include her ever-popular cheesecake lollipops!
Do you offer any special packages for rehearsal dinners? The Amber Room does offer special packages and theme menu options for rehearsal dinners.
Do you offer additional items for the ceremony? The Amber Room provides a number of unique and scenic ceremony sites on our 26 acre estate. Ceremony set-up includes the on-site selection, theater style white resin chairs, and professional coordination by an Amber Room personal maitre d'
Do you rent other items such as linens, tables, or flatware? The Amber Room is a full-service, premier catering venue, and all events include set-up of tables, chairs, linen, flatware, experienced wait staff & bartenders, and personal maitre d'. We do offer additional event items as requested, please inquire.
What is your staff-to-guest ratio? The Amber Room prides itself on service to our clients, by providing one professional server per twenty guests, and, one bartender per 75 guests. In addition, our bride & groom will have their personal experienced banquet captain throughout the entire reception.
Do you require clients to use a specific list of vendors? No. Clients are welcome to utilize their own vendors, however, must communicate these to their Amber Room sales manager. The Amber Room does provide our clients with a list of our preferred vendors for consideration, based on experience, customer service and value. One exception, all uplighting/lighting, photo booth & lounge furnishings must be booked through The Amber Room
Do you require the client to use your musicians? If you do not require this, is that an additional fee to bring in one's own musicians? No, we do not require use of our entertainment services or vendors. Clients are welcome to bring their own musicians in with no fee assessed.
Do you have any special side rooms that can be rented out for the occasion? The Amber Room offers additional spaces in addition to our Grand Ballroom, which includes our state-of-the-art tents, bridal suites, and outdoor spaces.
Can the client provide their own alcohol if desired? No. The Amber Room must purchase and serve all alcohol and related beverages due to our Liquor Licensing issued under the State of Connecticut.
