Frequently Asked Questions for Photography
What primary photographic style do you identify with? Contemporary, Photojournalism
What do your packages include? Albums, Custom Graphic Design, Digital Files, Flush Mount, High Resolution Images, Matted Prints, Prints, Proof CD of All Images, Thank You Cards, Video Montage
Do you have liability insurance? Yes
Do you offer special techniques such as hand-coloring or toning? I provide a wide range of retouching techniques to acheive my "natural look". I include b+w at no charge, and can do sepia tone and selective coloring (or hand coloring)upon request.
Do you have experience shooting in various lighting situations? One of the things I like best about wedding photojournalism, is the ability to work with so many different lighting situations. From the low light of a cathedral, to the bright sun of an outdoor or beach wedding. I have the experience to adjust for every different lighting situation to acheive the best artistic effect.
Is your media preference film or digital? I am 100% digital. I was an early adopter to new technologies, and purchase new cameras every year.
How many photographers do you work with? Most events can be well covered by me as the only photographer. If the situation calls for additional coverage, I will recommend an additional photographer or assistant. I can always provide an additional photographer on request.
Do you guarantee your presence at the actual event? I am the photographer that will be covering your event. And I guarantee that I will be there or provide a suitable replacement. I have never missed an event.
Do you sometimes book yourself for more than one event in a day? Weekend? I never book more than 1 wedding a day, or 2 weddings in a weekend. I will always give you my best work.
Do you have a replacement photographer in case you become unavailable on the day of the event? My association with dozens of photographers ensures that I will be able to provide a suitable replacement should something unforeseeable happen to me.
What kind of equipment do you typically bring with you on the day-of? I bring 5 camera bodies and a variety of lenses plus equivalent backup. You will see me at any time with 2 or three cameras on my person so that I may quickly change lenses.
Do you bring back-up equipment to the event in case of malfunction? Yes
Do you charge hourly or full day? My packages include complete coverage of your wedding day regardless of time. There is no hourly charge. Or you may hire me a la carte on select dates and off season. Each package can be tailored to fit your needs.
Are you available to shoot extra hours? If yes, how much do you charge for extra hours? Unlike most photographers, I do not charge by the hour. Instead my packages include a flat fee for the entire day
What is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal? I require a meal to be provided by the client/caterer. I usually take 10-15 minutes to eat.
Do you charge for travel? 100 miles of travel by car + tolls are included. Other travel expenses are billed to my client. This may include a simple mileage rate, or plane and hotel charges for destination weddings.
How soon after the event are the proofs ready for viewing? Your proofs are posted online in 2 to 3 weeks.
In what format are the initial proofs offered? Most packages include online proofs of every image taken at your wedding.
Do you retain the copyright for the photos? I always retain the copyright for the pictures I take. However, I do grant limited rights to reprint to the bride and groom with most packages.
Do you reserve the right to publish the photos? I do reserve the right to publish the photographs for advertising and self promotion.
Do you provide the digital files and/or negatives (or copies of the negatives) to the client? All album packages include your digital files and rights to reprint.
Will images be available for viewing online? An elegant Online gallery is included with each package.
What kind of albums do you offer? I have a variety of the latest album styles available. Album designs are available on my website.
When will the client get the final album? The final book is available 6-8 weeks once the design is approved. If you approve of my initial design, you can have the final album in your hands in as little as two months.
