Description: The 2Plus2 Band is a 2010 and 2011 WeddingWire Bride's Choice Award Winner! The 2Plus2 Band is a great dance, party band that energizes the dance floor with current, new music and fantastic oldies. We cover a wide range of popular music and styles to please a mix audience. Weddings, club dances and corporate events are our specialty. Our large song catalog allows us to customize our performances to suit the client's needs. For weddings, we're happy to prepare special music for that very special day. We also provide professional MC services during your event to handle announcements, introductions and more. The bands appearance also changes to suit the event. Tuxedos?, no problem. A casual beach wedding?, we'll fit right in. New Year's Eve to company bar-b-ques we've done it all. Need continuous DJ music when the 2Plus2 Band is on break?, no problem. We provide professional DJ service as well at no additional cost. Easy Dinner music set?, We've got it covered from smooth jazz to standards to great ballads. The musicians in this band are well schooled with many years of experience. Throughout their careers they have performed at hundreds of events and venues across the United States. The band leader is Vernon Lee Holloman Jr., a graduate of the Berklee College of Music. He has worked with legendaries like Maynard Ferguson, Buddy Rich and opened for The Trammps (Disco Inferno). Vern handles all of the custom arrangements and recordings for the 2plus2 Band. "I'm having such fun with this band...I love these guys and the music we're playing." What (if any) special equipment, such as disco balls or lighting, is offered with your service? We provide full stage lighting which includes dimmer, fade and chase effects, etc.
Do you usually emcee the event, or talk between songs? We provide professional emcee service at no additional cost.
How would you motivate the crowd if no one is dancing? Early in the planning stage we work closely with the Bride and Groom to discuss the audience/guest list demographics and their musical preferences. From that information we custom prepare our play lists and song selections. We find that variety music covering the various decades from the 60s forward to today is usually a good format. During the reception, we watch the audience closely and decide what they are responding to and adjust accordingly..
What is your policy on taking breaks? If you need a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal? Our breaks always coincide with the reception schedule of events. We are very flexible with our wedding clients and work closely with their wedding planners and "day of" coordinators to produce a smooth flow of events. When we need to be on we're ON.
Do you play recorded music during your break? We provide professioanl DJ service as well as our live performance. Our DJ service is proviced at no additional cost.
If one or more of the band members is unable to attend, what is your backup plan? The 2Plus2 Band has a roster of musicians that we can call on to substiture if one of our members can't perform. These musicians also perform with other bands and we will sub for them when we can. We've been around for a long time and we have lots of colleagues in the field.
What is your overtime rate? Our overtime rate is currently $200.00/hour
Do you charge for travel expenses? If yes, how much do you charge? No, unless we are required to travel an unusually long distance. Our current service area is Richmond, Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Hampton Roads/Tidewater, Williamsburg, Virginia and the Outer Banks of North Carolina from Corrolla south to Manteo and Elizabeth City.
What is the required deposit to secure your services? $200.00
