Innovative Invites
New invitation designs cross our desks daily, and we’re usually unfazed—but we all flipped for these, by Philadelphia-based Bird and Banner, 215-285-8055, birdandbanner.com. Owners Erin Mulcahy and Nicole Michels met while working as graphic designers, launched their studio in 2006 and are now known for creating one-of-a-kind designs for couples. Their innovative "hydrangea" invite suite (left), printed on wafer-thin strips of maple rather than paper, was designed for a couple marrying in the Vermont woods. Prices start at $1,400 for 100 invitation sets.
