Lighting the Way
Lining the paths around an evening reception locale with glowing paper lanterns is a lovely way to create a warm, magical vibe, but most luminarias usually involve a mess of sand, fear of wind and fire-safety concerns. We found an easier—and safer—option: the LumaBase Luminaria, 610-524-4166, lumabase.com, designed by a company in Exton. This version has a sleeve of cardboard with a cut-out design, a flame-resistant paper bag and a Lumabase, a hollow, brick-shaped plastic candleholder that you fill with water. There are dozens of die-cut designs—we like "lantern" and "butterfly" (left). Prices start at $24 for 12 lantern kits.
