From Dress to Cake
Why do so many brides use their wedding dress as the inspiration for their cake? Anne Khoobiar Heap of Denville’s Pink Cake Box, 973-919-4840, pinkcakebox.com, says it’s because of how beautifully the details, like bows and lace, can be replicated in sugar. In one of Anne’s recent confections, the hand-draped skirt of a silk taffeta Ulla-Maija "Danielle" gown inspired a four-tier confection topped with a red fondant bow. Inside the cake was layers of chocolate and white cake with Oreo-cookie, raspberry Chambord and peanut butter fillings.
